unfortunatly my peers (people I might consider freinds on occasion) are otherwise occupied purchasing things like trucks, houses and harleys...convincing any of them to invest in a computer game is about as likely as getting one of them to pick up the bar tab on the weekends
As mentioned earlier, the streams - the comparisons of planetside 2 (if they don't know that - I mention to them 'envision a shooter, but on a hundreds versus hundreds server - with domination like capture points - and the game is on-going - like a conflict). I put emphasis on how there is equal footing for melee and ranged builds - and how there will be multiple factions to choose from. As a bonus to get them interested, or if I feel like i'm losing them, I mention the executions - and how there will be many different ones (several per weapon ideally - as mentioned on Into the Warp 4) if that confuses them, even though it kind of hurts, I say "Like Gears of War" That has sold two people into a "I'll look into it when it gets closer to release, definitely" state of mind!
The only person I got so far was the guy who helped me get into Warhammer 40k in the first place. I run/play in 1-3 tabletop games a week. Those I play with are tabletop gamers and/or wargamers. I make a benign mention of the game every week or two (keeping people vaguely interested & updated). I often remind those who are WH40k fans that it's either Free-to-Play (if you like Orks) or only $40 to get in--and with no required subscriptions! I elaborate that $40 is a paltry sum compared to the cost of our miniatures. Regretfully, the general consensus is: "That sounds really cool, in concept, but I don't want to get burned/disappointed." I feel that--in time--they'll come around.
