How about wading through sewage seeing all manners of things just to find a small scrap of edible leather floating in the stream. Or having to kill a man at the age of ten because he broke into your home and was trying to steal what little food your family had. Also given the fact that they were thousands of miles away from the nearest hive city and they are reduced to eating anything even remotely edible to simply survive I'm going to have to say no.
