Now mind you, commenting on what im seeing so far in my F2P.

Quicksilver Bolter Vs Modded Regular Bolter.

Why is there a obvious cost in LP just for the Skin? I can understand that custom look of a Character in this game is important to the Devs/GW in this game. I'm totally fine with real money and campaigns being the way to improve your "look"

"QB" is costing around 100lp more then the modded verison of a "RB" and in practice. the QB fails to be a improvement in any area.
If it had the damage drop-off reduction that would be a start but still not pulling it in line as a possible build (Pop-Shot Tac, Precise Apotho)

"Looks" shouldn't cost LP, its not a Battle Ready Attribute of a Character, thus the naming "Load-out Point". This becomes more of a problem later on when your trying to balance out new Armor. I understand that they was hoping that a newer player would still be able to kill a Experienced player, but is that really fair to a person that put in the hours. These numbers don't need to be game breaking but there still needs to be a Beginning and Top game. A lot of flavor that could be used and it not due to it simply not being "better" or serve a role that something else doesn't do it for cheaper.

I want to be excited when i get new gear, plop down that Req i just earned. Not pull another bolter alt ""That clearly says its special and its not""....huge let down.

Quicksilver has higher speed, but true that is not worth it

And it does fire much faster in burst mode then a RB, but thats something that only is see-able in the math. In practical use, that extra burst speed doesn't compare to longer sustained fire. Yet again, the QB is meant to serve in certain situations, Sadly the High LP and Lack of proper stats just makes it a Inventory filler, something to make it scroll.

QB is for those who are going to spray some rounds, roll, spray, roll, or something like that, for a counter strike like playstile
  5. Tarantus Tarantus Arkhona Vanguard

Its a proper support weapon, but by far behind simple bolter with CQB and 60 bolt magazine. If you play aggressive tactical who pushes forward, Quicksilver is not for you.

I agree totally with that, what i thought too. I main a Apotho, and i was excited to see something i could use thats not going to FF so much as the reg bolter. And to be honest im still on the fence only because i actually heal people and the bolter is a "For those moments in-between" So yeah its a prefect support bolter, but then we get back to the LP cost :SMAngry:

    1) scope 20lp
    2) dampener grip 20lp
    3) modified 3 round burst granting higher firerate (normal bolter has 4 round burst) 40lp
    4) extended mag (+6 rounds) 20lp

it's a shame really, if you were talking about master crafted weapons you'd be bang on, but quicksilver bolter is fairly cheap for what mods it actually gets. on the other hand, master crafted bolter essentially just gets a dampener grip. you're paying for the price of equipping 2 dampener grips.

the quicksilver bolter has it's place. essentially alongside the vengence storm bolter, one of the best weapons in the game. granted, the vengence primarily gets penetration rounds which is a lot more hefty than 3 round bursts and a scope, but they're both along the same lines of a unique specialised weapon.

each of the weapons has a quirk or gimmick that you can get from crates. like it'll maybe have half heat load but half damage, or double heat load and double damage.

quicksilver is in the cheapest crates and it can be used to great effectiveness. if you really want to moan about supply crates being worth their requisition, come back after you spent 200k on power maul life steal and stuff like that.

But thats the point all together. You could make QB in Mods, and its all math correct. but...where the thrill in that? I dont understand why people are ok with this stale system or next to nothing upgrades. For the love of 40k open your eyes my friends. Generally speaking of course.

And by all means, this is about the Progression as well, so what about Mastercrafted? Is it yet again no bonus on the previous? Sorta what im getting at is the proposed "better" gear, at least in feel doesnt make me think, WOW. Even though im saying all this as a LSM player, im sure every Race has this problem of certain branches of "Items/Wargear/Weapons" That should serve a purpose but dont really add up to the bonus it should.

    1) you're an f2p why are you asking for more upgrades for veterans? to get the new items we just need to buy 1 crate often, so if something was objectively better everyone would use it. this means that new players would be totally railed with the bolter by the new BIS weapons. this is why a lot of shooters try to keep TTK on all weapons roughly the same, like battlefield games tend to all have identical usability on the weapons so that even the lowest player has the same TTK if they're actually good, hence the lacklustre mods.

    2) you can't make the QB in mods, it has a unique 3 round burst where bolter has 4 round burst, and it also has unique skin, which is a bonus for 100lp cost which is paid for with 4 mods, 1 more than you can take on other guns and one of which is the aforementioned unique burst length

    3) i believe there's room for more mods for weapons, but the problem is that if the bolter has too many mods other weapons will never be used, like heavy bolters have no mods right now.

    4) i do think they should add in more ammo types. currently there's AP that has no visuals, but it'd be nice to see AP rounds visuals. ammo types would be like kraken bolts and etc.

I'm all for the ammo types, and personally believe they should be a End-Tac loudout, and Early DV. Was always a fav of mine was the CSM/LSM ammo's
