Having seen it up close and personal, it's not a bad adaptation at least in terms of miniatures. The Cataphractii and older marks of power armour have translated well for the most part and get across the look of an older age, and the leaders on each side look pretty good. That said, some of the fine details have been lost on the plastic miniatures and having handled the Contemptor personally, it's a pale shadow of its Forge World versions. It looks fine to start with, but once you hold it you can see the corners cut to put it all together, looking more solidly blocky than the resin cast versions. That and, to be completely honest, a lot of the models lack the same dynamic poses the Forge World armies had. Certainly not saying it's bad by any stretch of the imagination, but personally it seems that Forge World still have the edge in terms of overall quality.

So, I pre ordered the BaC set, as I thought it be a rather good place to dive in to the tabletop. Yet I do wonder, would the models be valid in 40k aswell as 30k? Any info on this would be appreciated!
The power armoured marines would be. There are already parts of Mk IV power armour to be found in current SM kits. The problem comes with Cataphractii Terminators. In the HH ruleset they are better than standard Terminator suits, due to special qualities. But in 40K they would have to be used as standard Terminators, and be WYSIWYG. Most of the weapons in the set have 40K counterparts for SM. But Volkite weapons are reserved for the Mechanicum in 40K (so far). Luckily there's none in the BaC set.
So, the 3 tactical squads are 100% 40k and HH valid, The terminators are only HH valid, yet shouldn't I be able to proxy them to 40k terminators? Thank you for this info as I have been searching the web and couldn't find any info on it!
The power armoured squads are Tactical Squads in 40K, but Veteran Squads in HH. In HH Tactical Squads are 10 to 20 SM with no special or heavy weapons. You can proxy Cataphractii as Indomitus for 40K.
