So clearly we have a problem... The current matchmaker clearly favors the veteran players running full clan stacks against pugs. That is bad, that actively drives away new players who the devs need to bring the numbers up and spend money on what are in reality worthless in game cosmetics. The Dev's need money and are going the F2P route in an attempt to generate that money... so that they can show they are making money and the playerbase is up and not get their studios doors closed. All-right then let us look at one of the top earning free 2 play competitive game out there... World of Tanks. (Like it or hate it you cannot deny they make money hand over foot) It's MM system is in no way perfect for setting up 15 on 15 matches, BUT what they do right that I think should be added to this game is the fact that unless you pay real money and have premium subscription you can't run a platoon. (I.E bringing 1-2 buddies to help stack matches). My solution is this: Have a premium mode to go along with the Free 2 play edition that requires a monthly cost of premium currency. And only people who have premium subscriptions can form war parties. (also limit war parties to 5 at the most and clearly show who is in war parties when you look at the scoreboard) this way you let your guildy try hards contain to run stacks but you at least get to fleece them for the privilege of running stacked matches. I'm not saying you can't have 15 on 15 guild matches locked behind a pay wall noooo what I'm saying is lock the clearly unbalanced war party system in pugs behind the pay wall. I mean if were going to keep this unbalanced MM the games devs might as well profit off it and in turn then all the players will continue to get the game they want with the try hards paying to continue running stacks and the people who are trying the game for free will be incentivized to buy premium currency. I mean offer other benefits for premium like bonus xp and extra advancement and req points, but we all know that people WILL pay 2 win and if you put war parties behind that pay wall; they will pay. Now I know this isn't a good solution but it is a way for the dev's to make some money. Because I can tell you this now, in the current state that the MM is in even going full F2P will not save this game. Clan stacked matches vs pug groups are part of what is driving away those new players the devs so desperately want to attract and retain. You may now proceed to flame and freak out on this said post as I know this will not be a popular idea with the general population but I do hope one of the developers notices it and at least thinks about it.
So basically you want to punish people who are in a guild and playing the game as a coordinated team by making them pay for the ability to form parties?
Current state isn't good but what OP propose is absolute nonsense. The match making should favoured warparty against warparty as much as possible but you can't make warparty a pay to play thing. First because most of them are also founder and like me have bought the game many times as far as the investissement is concerned (250~300€ for me) and it would be insulting them, and secondly because in a team work game it is unbelievable to "punish" team play.
As a founder speaking to a new player to these forums...... Go fuck yourself, I am not paying an extra dime to enjoy the full expanse of what this game should/may become.
yeah ... no .. i will not and can not endorse giving BE any more cash if they do not sort out the inital deep rooted problems this game already has .. but tbh i cannot see anything like this happen anyways .. unless the devs realllly lose their marbles...
It seems you've stirred up the knee-jerk reactionaries of the forum which is disappointing. Though I agree with you that clan-stacking is a problem, paying to group up is not a good idea. Limits on the number of grouped players is a solution. No-one should reasonably expect to be able to join a large number of friends and face of against a bunch of randoms. Players that want to group up should have to wait for matches against similarly sized opposition groups. If people want to clan-stack fully, they should have to play against a fully stacked opponent.
This is a TEAM game, if and when pugs communicate and act like a TEAM on a objective based game they can win. the problem is that people act like lemmings, it favors teamplay. i know there is a problem right now but punishing clans isnt the answer. clan people have taken a lot of initiative to make groups etc. the vibe i get from the OP that warparties need to be paid for....just no. i understand where you are coming from but what you ask for is the other extreme, its a parody of the problem we currently have.
