That's Blizzard's style of balancing, "X class is under powered or not working properly, we better nerf everything else to bring them in line with them."
Its probably just gonna be some weak Combat Knife durability nerf, the devs have said as much. That coupled with a bunch of bugs Michael has found, once hes back from holiday will be ironed out. Then all will be well. I doubt it'll be done within the last few weeks of the second month of the 2 month road map, I'm expecting at least another 2 months on top to a year + worst case scenario.
True. Recently joined zedek late as SB (both things rare for me), lost A soon after, won the game at B. I never died and maybe got 5 kills...and crusader! Even on a short map, that shows the state of things when 5 kills wins you "most melee downs."
Only really noticed that on defense on ticket maps. Which kind of makes sense since if the enemy has to come to you, you're better off posting up in a defensible position with a ranged weapon instead running at the offense howling and wasting tickets.
Yup, exactly. I bought an extra character slot for an IF and am focusing solely on SB and devastator. I was sucking that night at as devastator (more than normal, that is) and getting no help vs the raptors assaulting me, so I switched to SB and just defended the less sucky ranged folks.
There is only one way to fix melee. Reduce weapon durability. AND when you get stunned, have so you can use a single stamina bar to remove it. That way it's more skillbased, stamina is important for melees, and makes having reflexes in melee more important.

If you can't do that yet, you need more practice. Team > Single so this whole concept of ranged needing a nerf is just the opposite of the ranged people crying about assault melee. You need skill in both.
