So, we all know the current limitations, and we all hate it as well. Yet having all vet / elite matches should be avoided at all costs, for obvious reasons. So what should be done? My question is, have you ever played Star Wars Battlefront? There, players who perform well have a chance to play one life as a hero character. There's also a colldown time between the appearence of heroes, so they are a quite rare sight on the battlefield (relatively speaking). I suggest implementing a similar system, combined with the current one, on an individual basis. Here are the main points of this idea: -Every player should start with a limited spawn of vets / elites (so basically, the current system). -Performing really well as a normal character should earn the player the ability to spawn as a vet / elite once more -What "performing really well" actually mean should depend on the class of the player, it can be kills, support actions, tanking damage etc This idea would still allow everyone to play as advanced classes, reward skilled gameplay, and solve the problem of the current system (that everyone hates to some degree). But there's more! -With this system, there could be tiers of advanced classes, eg: veterans are the lowest classes, elites are the next, then whatever else will come in the future, like terminators, rangers, wraith guard, mega nobs etc. -The player's performance as a normal character could decide the tier of elite class they are rewarded with -This system would make elite vehicles possible, like Dreadnaughts and their equivalents Here's a thread (that I did not make) about Dreadnaughts https://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/dreadnaught-mechanics-video.67671/ Rewarding well performing players with spawning as elite vehicles is also much more lore friendly than the spawning mechanic presented in the above linked thread, considering that eg: a Space Marine player who did really well would be grafted into a Dreadnaught after they died.
