their holidays should come soon™ just like our content will come soon™. oh, wait what? you're saying that holidays and rest come first? yeah but let me ask rest from what? looking at the computer and clicking a few buttons to lock certain threads?
Next time an Early Access title asks for funding or me supporting it i will also answear (insert Signature here)
Like...what exactly is getting worse? The game is not perfect, it is definetely not what it was promised to be...but good? Yes, it is good. -There is no pay to win. -Balance, despite all the complaint threads, comes down to a few outliers that may be too good, the rest is perfectly fine. I can play one of the weakest classes of the current meta and still reliably make it to the top of the scoreboard. -Latency and performance are very real problems but, once again, not closely as bad as they are displayed by the community (Admittedly I do have some pretty solid hardware so it might hit others harder) -The lack of content updates is annoying, yet it doesnt make all the content we already have any worse. 4 Unique factions are already more than most AAA-titles ever bother to make. The problem is that people are coming down the hype, slowly realizing that there is no magic solution, that the devs will not suddenly fix all the problems and create a total conversion out of nowhere, not gonna happen. What we have here are: -Confirmation bias -Contrast effect -Endownment effect -Focusing effect -Hofstadters law -Bandwagon effect All of these further amplifying and emphasizing the relative perception of real and actual issues this game has. Everything is not horrible, but the more you believe it is, the more you will actually perceive it that way.
-Agreed. I like that about the game, so far nothing seems pay to win, which is a big green dot in my book. -I fully disagree. Balance barely exists between LSM, CSM and Orks, Eldar in my opinion are impossible to balance against these three, for a number of reasons. I think the game should have been LSM v CSM for some moths more so they could balance things, add customisation options and flesh out the factions. The game went too big, too fast and it is going to flop because of it. -I find that latency is still still poor, while performance is mostly ok, with room for a lot of improvement. I get 40-ish FPS 60% of the time and random freezes from time to time. -No, the lack of content doesn't make the current content bad, it just makes it stale, which explains why people are leaving. There have been no new maps, modes or anything really noteworthy for the past few months. To summarise: the game IS as bad as people are saying, otherwise people would be playing it. We are shouting as loud as we are, because we are seeing nothing being done to fix issues that are several months old, while getting the "soon™" treatment, its not a placebo effect, it is fact. We are shouting in the vain hope that maybe the devs will actually look at the complaints and do something. But yeah soon™.
Population. You know, the thing needed to actually have matches and play the game. Orkz are nonexistent on non-prime time atm. Eldar are down to >20 players give or take. The game is becoming literally unplayable. I have to restrict myself to prime-time only if I want to have any semblance of a fair fight. And even then it's a coin toss. The sad thing is that I don't think they'll fix the MM until it becomes a problem for LSM. Because they sure as hell aint fixing it for the Xenos's sake.
You have have to treat games, especially MMOG's like EC (which isnt a mmo per se), as a service and not as a final product you sell once. The first thing you have to learn is communication with your playerbase and interact with them. BHVR, in persona @Oveur does it really well and even we don't see a lot of progress, it doesn't mean there isn't one or we like what he tells us (or like his humor ...) I don't want to be the Devil's (Nathan's) advocate here, but the biggest problem we as players and BHVR as a developer face is the history of the catastrophic early development and there is no money, time or manpower left to get EC back on track. Harsh truth doesn't change the facts.
But it is a problem for LSM. That is what is killing me with all this. If LSM doesn't have enemies to fight, then there is no fight. We get two scenarios: 1) No Xenos to fight, because MM and balance is so off that decent players won't play without their guilds. So you get no "normal games" against PUGs, (ie mostly PUGs v mostly PUGs) 2) When Xenos show up they show up en mass as well trained/communicating guilds. Who then procede to obliterate the other side. This causes causal LSM players to say fuck it. If you have a solid Eldar team, I hate to say it but only a guild/veteran team of LSM can stop them. Their strengths are too strong when LSM are not working together. This isn't fun for anyone, (if people are being honest) if all you want to do is smash the other side, hey bully for you, but I actually don't mind losing when the match is a well fought match. I wouldn't say they are treating LSM as favorites, I would say they are turning us into their scapegoat and taking the heat off their screw ups.
The Problem is not the game, the problem are the people who have too high hopes for things, or think they will arrive anytime soon. Why demanding a game is playable and fun for such a price, when you can just accept it and pay a little more to the devs? Stop complaining about problems that are present since day 1 and never get fixed, and be happy for the new problems they implement! I was once like you, then i took soon™ to my knee, since then i am fine Soon™ Here, have some stickers to stick them on all your hopes and dreams. It's much easier if you mark them early as what they are, so you don't make the mistake to get hopes again. I always mark my wishes regarding EC with that, and it works, doctors hate me, i lost my anger with this simple life hack. Following are 3 free stickers to cut out yourself, the 4th is available in a paid DLC that enables the microtransaction to buy it now before it gets released: (glue to make it stick to things not included of course, available in "BasicDLC" which is due to November 2020, preorder now)
Sad but Xenos if they want to win are forced to go a warparty. Unfortunately it causes more hate and screams like pugstompers. But what else we can do to provide even numbers since start? What can i do if you start with pugs with only half of the team for 5-10 minutes. We also eager to fight some organised groups mixed with pugs a little like we are. For these days only CSM can stand strong as pugs because of average quality of players. Not LSM. LSM mostly give up and quit and left their bretheren in more dire situation. Could you please make NEVER tm meme for meh? It represents a bit stuff for eldar.
