Well for the exeption of the tyranids. Enermies will be other players, som the loothoading with would be lore breaking exept for orks. And how often does a spacemarine change armor? Allmost never, only if they get some relic or rune armor in some great honer
I would prefer the armor to all be cosmetic changes, including hiding the helmet. Yes it doesn't make since that getting shot without a helmet wouldn't change damage but it would be less work for the devs. Also the customization will already be somewhat limited given the chapter colors must apply so i doubt they would penalize you for not using a helmet. I do like the idea of rebreathers and augmetics as cosmetic items but not effecting combat.
Except for unlocks for SMs scout armour, power armour, terminator armour, Eldar have mesh armour, aspect armour, Orkz have flak armour, heavy armour, mega armour, Chaos marines have power armour, terminator armour etc. So there will be unlocks for different armour types based on your skill sets.
Yeah I suppose I should of said ..."with those exceptions" I was talking more about the basic armour almost everyone will be wearing, I doubt Scout type armors will be in the game since Scouts arnt going to make it at launch, and Terminator(TEQ's) grade armor isnt as much an equipable armor piece type as it is a type of spawn unit like the HQs since the TDA will be a consumable rather then a permanent
The vote should have the option "Both", just for correctness at this point. I'm still loving the idea, I could take off my helmet in the game. In MMO's are these features to let your character greet others or dance etc. It would be so glorious if you could show your face in a similar way to show others respect or to look your brothers in the eyes after a great battle. Edit: But if you forget to take your helmet back on again, it should matter.
