I can think of 2 off of the top of my head LOTRO being a prime example, it switches all cosmetics off the moment you zone into the PvP areas so everyone can see what class type you are.
Yeah those are the ones and on the DA models hidden under the hoods of their robes, with wires going to the backs of the neck, making it look like the cloth hoods were the psychic hoods. This is where my confusion came from.
I've never played LOTRO so I'll take your word on it lol I have seen SWTOR though and its system of cosmetic outfits, though I never had a problem with how people looked in that game PvE or PvP
I don't really have a problem with how people looked in SWTOR as the equipment was augmented and looked quite good, in LOTRO you had 2 character sheets, one for your equipment (which added the stats to your character) the other cosmetic, where you could put what ever you liked in to give your character a unique look. It was a great idea on paper as it meant if you picked up a level 1 suit of armour that looked fantastic you could slot it in your cosmetic set and display that armour while you were wearing a mishmash of different looted pieces that made you look like a court jester. This meant you could uniform your character and still use the stats of what ever you looted without looking daft. The downside was you ended up have high end characters in top end gear going into raids and PvP displaying cosmetic slot of yellow party dresses, it may not have been so bad if it wasn't for having to witness a male dwarf in a pink dress wearing a flowery bonnet swinging a 2 handed axe....
Yes and no, I don't particularly care if someone wants to go into battle in a pink dress, it's their character, but I want the physical aspects of what they look like they're wearing to be represented. So if you want to wear your cocktail dress to the fight then wear it, I don't want you power armour displaying the illusion of a cocktail dress. On a more serious example having the ability to display cosmetic clothing instead of armour would mean that people could hide the fact that they were in terminator armour or Ork heavy armour or Eldar aspect armour by displaying flak armour in the cosmetic slot. It would be a tactical nightmare. I feel the same way about the "hide head slot" even though it's not to such an extreme degree.
what if that system worked like in wow for example heavy armor ( plate ) can only take the appearnce of heavy armor not any other kind of armor
That works for me just fine, I have no wish to restrict anyone, my only point is I want to know who/what I am fighting and what armour you're wearing and what weapons you are packing is an intrinsic part of that. I am also against, weapons that people are carrying not being displayed, if you've got a missile launcher I want to see it slung over your shoulder even if you're using your boltgun so that I know that you could switch out and blast me off of my warbike (for example).
i dont think that is possible m8 ,it has something to do with stressing the server i think im not sure thought
