If you want something to do more damage to vehicles, the code to do so (haywire grenade) already seems to exist, so make them do more damage to vehicles. With the LSM problem, I think suppression is the natural solution to this sort of thing, I've currently had /very/ suppressed people (emperors word at very long range) still hit me directly with cannon shells a high percentage of the time at very long ranges (at spawn, shooting at folks all the way at the wall in attack the fort), so that mechanic could use some work and I think slinging shells over fortifications to get folks's heads down is both a good use of mechanics, and slinging rounds is fun. I dont have a problem with LSM/CSM on attack and defend, Sure it usually ends up out of time at the last point with a few tickets remaining, i'd say its probably 60/40 towards defenders, I'm fine with that. I'd be fine with losing 90% of the time if I'm having a good time. My argument isn't X isn't fair its that X isn't fun. Balance pales in comparison to fun, there are plenty of razors edge balanced games out there that no one plays because they aren't fun. Overwatch is a good example of a game with shaky balance, that a /ton/ of people play, because it is fun. focus on fun, getting one shotted from a huge distance vs a weapon your faction has no answer to or have any idea where it came from, is not fun, I don't really care how it is fixed, but I don't think ballooning up the amount of things that can one shot people at super long ranges with no warning is healthy for the game because it really doesn't solve the issue of 2 kannons just holding the trigger on a big doorway makes it completely impassable and they don't necessarily have to stand somewhere you're going to be able to return fire.. I feel the other "nerf XYZ" issues will be resolved when lag is, because you get shot a bunch of times and they register all at once due to performance/lag, it seems like you are just instantly dying, once I found the thread and edited the config file (why has it been months and this is still not in game?) thats been drastically reduced. In my mind, you could increase splash a bunch on all the aoe's, and decrease the damage to the point where you're just flushing people out and not letting their shields recharge and finishing people off, not annihilating groups of them without any sort of coordination. at the very least they should arc like an actual shell would and have a reasonable flight time
Only lsm loadout allowing you to survive plasma requires you to put relic armor and overcharge generator for 750lp total, leaving no space for anything else, also possibly shieldless ground assault could contoct something similiar Most lsm cant survive a plasma cannon, while pretty much every nurglite with warp touched armor can. It is very onesided in that aspect too.
Agreed with pretty much everything, only thing i cant agree with is the eldar stuff as i dont play them so im not sure whats up with that
What exactly is extremely biased, as opposed to biased, or neutral? Yes, a few patches ago they buffed the boltgun accuracy, but increased shoota recoil. You're right, I meant hawksear. Which are often used, because they're one of the most OP things in the game right now. There are a lot of complaints about not seeing your imminent death with Kannons, and Hawksear produces the exact same result in a milli-second. Yes, plasma grenades are supposed to be a master of none grenade, damaging both infantry and vehicles. The AoE is lower for stikkbombs and plasma grenades, and stikkbombs have the sideeffect of bouncing all over the place and occasionally does no damage. Plasma grenades meanwhile aren't doing much to vehicles like kraks and super stikkbombs do. The results are also that it becomes the worst transport in the game, just with driving. Then, you've the obscured line of sight for shooting, or its higher minimum range. Klaw is more of a lore thing, hence the suggestion. Speed, well, lifegain is nearly useless as a vial. Apothecaries get a slightly overpowered 30% damage reduction buff. Speed would at least buff melee, which is the intention of the lifegain vial, but if there is another solution that doesn't straight out copy LSM that could be good too. Or we just copy LSM, as that seems to be the theme here with all the balance suggestions to make weapons similar instead of different.
I disagree here. The Eldar guilds are pretty good, but I firmly believe that given equally skilled teams whether its PUGS or guilds, Eldar will win everytime. It's not that they're overpowered mechanically, that's LSMs niche. Fire dragons are fine, Serpents are mostly fine. It's that Eldar change the game dramatically. Whether one plays against LSM, CSM or Orks, the game is the same with just a different target to shoot at. They've equivalent classes, equivalent weapons, and plays out exactly the same as each other. Not so against Eldar. You've to watch the skies all the time, especially now that they've instant death bombs that requires little skill to pull off. You've to search every room you walk into for scorpions, which are always hidden everywhere. You just have to waste a lot of time on watching out, and meanwhile the Eldar are fast, hard to notice with the smaller frames, and appear out of nowhere more regularly than other enemies. Vehicles on both sides are destroyed instantly, but with roadkill Eldar vehicles are manned 10 times as often which makes traditional meltabomb placement irrelevant. Honestly, all the frustrations with Eldar is exactly due to all this, they force you to play the game very differently, and all to their advantage. Eldar given equally good opposition will often win over anything due to this.
Did they buff hawksear or something? Last time I used them they took four bombs to take out a braced heavy.
Do plasma grenades even do AV damage? I swear I tried to use them on tanks a few times to sap exp but it didn't scratch the armour or give me exp, if not then its a worse frag grenade for a stick mechanic countered by rolling.
which is why you run a script that hammers the drop grenade button for you and just strafing run folks then go find a reload bin
