Probably although the only heavy weapon with mods is currently LSM and the Grav cannon, I would expect mods like reduced heat and less recoil, pretty basic stuff, but since it's so basic I do wonder why we still don't have them, then again Eldar are yet to get an extended mag so I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's taken this long.
Work in progress allready. We had some talks about them with Michael Chan, fairly extensive and open one at that. Then all the news grew fairly silent since then. Edit: Also remembered that there was also an "ammo feed assymetry" thoughts on top, like points of belt feed, box mags etc. So that makes it even longer case to wait for.
Anything that makes you fire for longer is going to either increase the spread or decrease the damage. Always a negative to that positive.
I do not play them. But I want a box or two of them because they look badass. Perhaps for small games or as a ultra elite small group to wreck face in the backlines while my legion of tanks and artillery smash down the front door. But the potential to have such devices in game would be insane. They would have limited ammo and such but it would be glorious. Able to hold a doorway like no other as if the foe tries to swarm through they get roasted. It sure as heck would be extremely powerful in PVE.
would think there should be weapons like this in game. But only for use in pve. The pve side of things should get weapons and equipment we do not have for pvp. Combi bolters and all the fancy stuff should be put to use is PVE
Combi-weapons (on the tabletop anyways) only have a single shot. Perhaps a Combi Melta could have enough charge for a single burst (i.e hold down the trigger all the way to Overheat). Combi-Plasma could have a handful of charged shots (like say 3) or a few normal single shots but no where near enough for constant or prolonged combat. Grav would have a similar thing to melta (one single "shot" from trigger to overheat). Maybe they could at best be Pistol strength as opposed to say full sized weapons. the mighty Infernus Bolter on the other hand would be best restricted to PVE I agree. A Heavy flamer is nothing to sneer at not to mention its duct taped to a Heavy Bolter. The same could go with Ork Combi weapons or at worse the Orks could have just the Rokkit with a single shot. I have a grave feeling about Flamers in the future (never showing up ever, I dout they will) So I dout they could get the Skorcha . Eldar have no such devices and Chaos do not have them aside from Combi-Bolters which are just Stormbolters under another name (in EC). If Chaos moans enough, perhaps they could get a melta or plasma one that is "stolen" from LSM as CSM stealn all they can to keep their war gear functioning.
