U'know? I will just toss some more shit to the fan. Loaylists have stalker bolter - to counter braced (and unbraced) HBs and ACs. Loyalists have grav weapon, that allowes them to hard-counter assaults, JPA and veicles, slowing and damaging them in one time. Loyalists have storm shield, that gives them toughness in both melee and ranged combat. CSM have Autocannon, and infinite salt mines.
1)Offtopic... and very boring offtopic. 2)Stalker Bolt counters braced AC???? Stalker does 160 dmg to the head and has lack of ammo... AC does 240 to the head, shots faster... accuracy the same... (actually AC is much more accurate if Stalker does not have longer barrel addon). Sounds like you never tried to counter AC's on the wall. They only got killed is they are asleep or too greedy, killing your friends. (this happens so seldom) 3)Grav weapon? Again? Seriously? Whats's your logic? Making HB low powered would make Grav and AC players to be balanced between each other? LOL... 4)Again... loyalists??? Why??? there are HB's and AC's being compared. And Orcs do have shields too + fire swords, poison, super cannons, rockets etc. So what? By the way Shield only can deal with 5 AC shots... and then it's done. And of course my HB character is supposed to feel more comfortable because someone is happy! Especially playing Chaos with HB vs Shield and grav gun (which AC does kill MUCH easier). Soo smart decision. You are not the first who explicitly tells me that I must be happy with underpowered gun NOT because you know the way it plays good... But because someone else have powerful guns. Because you all think HB's underpowered! And you find any way to justify it at HB bearer's expense. I imagine how you feel happy if some enjoys at your expense...
It requires a little more effort than just pointing in the general direction and firing, but it's certainly a threat to braced heavy weapons who can't dodge.

I really do love going through and fully reading threads like this it gets me harder than terminator armor. If HB was to act like its supose to in everything it would shread you in a burst, then again so would bolter one head shot your dead. It's because of balance that we have these things done otherwise the game would be seriously op towards marines. as for autocannon I have made my point in a thread before that it is ment for destroying infantry in this game and has its drawbacks to using. The heat dmg in AG doesn't do anything by the time it does their dead.but let's wine about it more shall we like usual. I think if anything the HB needs more damage and then keeps the stats it has now and I'd be fine not that I use it and on the skill note Forgrim mentioned if you are good at a class you can dominate easily with any weapon. It all takes pratice.
I routinely murder many people with a MM. Something that SHOULDN'T generally do that well in many situations. I'm just so used to it and use it all the time that it is like an extension of my will that will of course being that all things must be ash
Honestly it's all skill based and when to do something of not, I can take almost any chaos weapon and be good with it, including that emperor forbidding power fist and ax eghhh
