I think this would be reduced and better if Eldar were just... fun? I've spent all of today playing as Eldar (Marines are usually my main) and I've had about a 60% winrate which is nice. But I have noticed Eldar players tilt HARD if they have to work for something or get told something. Eldar players have been the most abusive to not only the enemy team after a game (Nice for DAB reigning it's members in when they started getting abuse) but also toward each other during the game. I personally received a crap load of abuse for pointing out what the Q button does and why it should be used. I got shit in another game for keeping a squad at a point that wouldn't grant the enemy a time bonus but they were attacking anyways. I knew if I gave up the position it would just open another flank on our primary defence objective. Suffice to say we won due to our efforts but I didn't get anything close to an apology. In most games I also saw Eldar players being the first to hurl insults in the post game screen or complain about plasma (We all do that though I guess) or complain about Auto Cannons and the like. And I see them tilting on each other if they don't get the easy win they feel they signed up for. I want to point out in games where MYST or ... another guild starting with O, I didn't see this, and I made a point of joining your squads when I saw them rolling around because I knew I could trust you guys. Your games were the cleanest and most fun - without you it was a lot of abuse from my own team. After today though I think I'll just be hanging up the Shuriken Catapult because I have to say I had very little fun. The constant abuse, the playstyle, the aggression at the end of every single game.... nah. I applaud you Eldar loyalists, but this ain't for me I'm afraid.
I First of all, I would like to say sorry that you have that horrible experience when playing Eldar. I can only talk about my own experience, so here it is. I haven't gotten that vibe when I play Eldar. I play Orks, Space Marine and Eldar (Eldar is my main), and in most of my games, the in-game chat is relatively chill. People from all factions will bitch and moan about their team, I have been in many FPS communities and this is just a symptom of competitive online play. It is easy to say that Eldar players are X, but so far I haven't seen enough evidence to suggest it.
OK now I'm confused here maybe you can help me out.... Eldar that take advantage of all these glitches and win are considered cheaters IYO correct? Yet when they don't use these glitches and win they are still cheaters because "they have better stats"? Okay so Eldar win= angry SM's no matter WHAT technique is used.......That's the impression I'm getting But NOW your saying that losing makes Eldar noobs, because with all these "advantages" Eldar SHOULD be winning and if they are not winning they are bad players So my options when playing Eldar are...... A). Win and be called a cheater (Whether you are one or not.) or B). Lose and be called a noob (Also whether you are one or not.) Well......I'm insulted no matter what.....and losing would make the people who will be insulting me happy (Why the heck would I want that?) and I still get the win......even if I am a "cheater" So what would I rather be called......Noob?........ or cheater?
I think a big part of the problem is just the balance right now feels like it's hugely in favour of the Eldar. Now I'm not going in that debate, that's not my point but that's the general consensus and opinion in the game and community right now: That Eldar are OP. Now position yourself on say the Marine players team. Who everyone agrees and knows are actually UP right now. Imagine being a LSM player who knows he could just make an Eldar character but wants to play with his squad or guild, or just hates the Eldar or something. To him, when he's playing against Eldar all he can think is "This crap is so broken." or "Why would you play this when it's KNOWN they're broken?" and other such thing I have seen said in chat. That means at the end of a game the player, in this case our Marine player, can only see two reasons for this loss or win: You either suck, or you're OP. If you lost, it's not because you were outplayed because it's impossible to outplay Eldar atm. You were not out gunned because Eldar never miss. You didn't lose to melee because you have level 0 power weapons and it wasn't tank spam because you have level 0 melta weapons. Did you win? "Well Eldar are OP, of course you won" So how is he going to feel? What is he going to think when he claws a victory from Eldar? He's going to think they suck. Not that he did well. Your answer should be C. C). regardless of the result, encourage and push the developers toward better balance across factions, especially the inherent weakness of one of the major factions which is colouring the perception of other factions throughout the community. I want to say I may not agree that Eldar are top dog right now (I think Orks are nuts in melee, but fun!) but you don't have to go far to see the majority of players don't have fun against Eldar and find them OP and you have to go even less distance to hear that most people feel LSM has the highest ratio of new players. Those combined make Eldar the punching bag, deserved or not.
Eldar are not the only ones doing this btw, Orks are doing it too. Here are two screenshots I took in the same night (and not the only two instances of it happening) a few nights ago. This is on the stairs leading to the roof from B on Blackbolt, they later drove it into the point itself. It was a DLB member driving btw Drox, but did I go out and call Orks or DLB exploiters? No I didn't. How did I know it's a DLB member? It ran over me on my next spawn coming into the room and I checked the name. I believe this is actually the same spot that Wave Serpents were parked in in your first post about "Eldar exploiting and deserving the hate" and was actually after the patch that was supposed to fix Eldar's ability to get their transports up there. I was wondering while defending C how they kept coming back so fast because I'd checked all over under the stairs and underneath the point, but finally figured it out when I ran back out and up here. I've also personally burned Eldar tanks for exploiting and sitting in places they shouldn't be. I have never trash talked anyone after a match, blamed anything/anyone being OP for a loss. Eldar is my favorite faction in lore and I was committed to playing it before it was even added to this game. I played it when it was below garbage tier when it first came out. I will continue playing it. I will continue trying to fight exploitation to the best of my ability. I do not appreciate people constantly insulting/berating me and my friends who do this same thing after every match win or lose. I understand your frustration, but please stop trying to stir up more animosity between players. There are bad eggs in every faction, people will be people. Report it to the devs and move on.
Good on you for not posting it on the ork subforum, calling for hate and insults. It would be a shame to have the eldar labelled as toxic.
I think that about 50-80% Eldar palyer base is also the 10%. Actually, I think there is only one playerbase with rude and nice people evenly distributed. You know what SM psot when Eldar won?
Lol this is such a good line I felt it needed a special mention. We do not shout at cockroaches, or reason with them Drox, we stomp on them till their squishy bits come out! The Gay-space-elf clan of Eldar was one of the most ancient and renown of all the Eldar clans. Hailing from Craftworld Alaitoc many of their kin became Rangers, shooting their enemies with deadly accuracy from afar. Their craft of ranged warfare was unmatched, that is until the Nerf-Eldar Warlocks from Ulthwe showed up and prophesied a great calamity befalling the poor Gay-space-elf clan. They disappeared without a trace overnight. Some say they were sucked into the webway by Cegorach to start lives anew as Harlequins, others claim that the Reapers of OPBroken Clan finally had their revenge from a slight thousands of years ago. Whatever the truth, those of Clan PlzBuff are surely the only ones to know, as they were entrusted with the Gay-space-elf clanstone after the disappearance, however it is a secret they will apparently take to the grave. I thought you guys were Eldar fans? This is common lore guys cmon!
You are the most unfriendly person I have ever met. Please, get away from our sub-forum, not even Cegorach can laugh upon your mediocrity. And dont forget = /thread.
