What do you think? And what do you mean by torturing? First - I was here since the beginning, I invested money, time and energy. Also made some friends on the forum and that is the main reason I am still here - sentiment, nothing more. Plus I also want to warn potential buyers about the flaws, iconsitencies, broken promises\plans of EC etc. They deserve it, I've had enough of shady marketing and cheating or over pricing. You get the picture.
5 trailers don't do much if nobody knows such trailers exists. Their newest trailer has only about 24000 views. They also have not been very apparent at big events. TBH the amount of marketing for the game is very limited, Deathwing has only like 2-3 trailers and somehow it has a more press coverage.
Are you also going to downvote the "bullshitty" positive reviews? "Support this game for the longrun. its nice if you can look past some things." "-It's a Warhammer 40k shooter -Very similar to Planetside 2 in combat and vehicluar combat" "i must say this is the BEST game i have ever played on the pc" "I have seen the future, and it is death." (this was a positive review, but that could easily be a negative one too) "like planet side but with orks and metal, needs work but with an active dev team it is shaping up to be a great game" No, again, this game is NOT like Planetside. Might wish it were, might be what the devs originally promised it would be but it is nowhere close. "Eternal Crusade is probably one of the best 40k games on the market since Dawn of War." "i like it :3" "pros- Warhamer spacemarine that has players. tanks Meh-can be really laggy and some of the guns still need to be balanced cons-still in alph/beta stages of game play." Um...they posted this review AFTER it launched. "Goof start getting better slowly" (yeah, "goof" start) "Fun shooter" (that's the whole review) So while you're downvoting what you deem to be "bullshit" negative reviews, I trust you'll be doing the same with the bullshit positive reviews?
Deathwing is far more interesting and worth the time. I've seen plenty of articles from PC gamer and other such sites about EC, if it hasn't grown in popularity or interest, than I guess its just regulars avoiding the EA part. Also, most people outside 40k dont take much interest in it. Unless its DOW.
Of course, Deathwing has a far more better cinematic trailer and better graphic, and those are things ppl like nowadays.
EC has "good" graphics... sorta... well thats all thats been focused on so yeah. DeathWing has a lot of focus and well planned development, most likely they've had a lot of time to make it as visually interesting as possible. They also have designed the hulks based on descriptions from novels and such, so they've got a lot already set to go.
Honestly, I admit that some people don't even know what is the purpose of Steam review. That's what I infer after so many shitty reviews I've read from both sides.
The first Eternal Crusade trailer was promised to look like a fantastic CGI trailer, but created by a cheaper studio. It's hot garbage compared to the Deathwing/Dawn of War/etc. trailers. Let's not pretend Behaviour didn't try to appeal to that same crowd.
They also have a more experienced team with more experience in UE4. Honestly, compare to them, EC team is like a ragtag army, Nathan literally had to rebuild the team from the ground up. It depends, Deathwing cinematic trailer is hated by a lot of people here due to shitty music which doesn't have anything to do wtih 40K. So compare to that EC's beats it hand down. Dawn of War 3 obviously has a much better one, but they ruined the whole freaking thing by accompanying it with a bunch of Starcraft-clone gameplay trailers.
