Have the devs stated anything about the Kannon, and if they plan to nerf it?

People complaining about the mortar mode when Eldar be like "Follow me my dudes, I'll breach into the fortress with the Tempest, ez" *The reaper proceed to wipe the opponents behind cover... and half of his team due to them not waiting for the rain to stop*

Seriously the mortar mode is fine, and Kannon still have the humongous range on it (even though it's not a dedicated mortar, the tempest is and got its range nerfed). People don't look into the sky so the mortar is a devastating tool and allow to breach any fortified position. The Kannon is fat because it's a combination between a direct fire and a mortar mod, both at very long range, meaning it's the perfect to defend and to breach.

And I don't want to hear ANY GOD DAMN LSM complaining about their AV arsenal, they have the most complete arsenal for each situation. We have 30 loadout slots, use them, and swap them accordingly for each race you are fighting against. Muh bolter?

Autocannon doesn't suppress and is a shit at walking gunning compare to HB. A HB has a kind of self defense with the suppression, the Autocannon don't have it and will be taken down way more easily than a HB.

The good old, it's OP if it's not LSM...
  2. I thought the PC actually had a bigger AoE, just with much weaker damage? I'll try finding the video/screenshots again.

They have the exact same AoE, technically speaking. The major difference is that the PC suffers from a dramatic damage drop off within its radius of damage, while the Kannon deals a solid sphere of 1600. Fully geared MoN marines and orks can survive a direct blast from the Plasmacannon with a sliver of HP left, though they rarely survive the follow-up as they are stunned.

Marines are not in a proper tier unless they can win every single match. They are going to cry. Eternally

Rule #1 when looking at balance:

Just because there is possible counterplay, doesn't mean the weapon is balanced.

I still really like my idea of setting it to like 5 damage higher than the bolter and 10 pen with a normal headshot multiplier, HOwever when you are scoped on a target you build charge as if you were charging a PC or LC and each revolution is a headshot multiplier bonus to the next shot so if you hid for a few seconds and scoped someone BAM you could one shot them if you hit them in the dome with 3 stacks, but firing with less produces a "long range Bolter" effect with the semiauto firerate disadvantage. that way servo still helps you and is a good pick but it isnt the CQC monster it presently is while keeping its "cover deny anti HW profile" since hw will be the only guys standing still that long ....

At that point i could see the shots revealing position reinforcing real world sniper tactics of having to relocating after a kill ....

Depends on the counter play. If you can completely negate a weapon's ability to do damage and still be an influencial force on your team in most scenarios then its pretty hard to argue against a weapon.

Melee did that against the PC before the nerfs.

Not sure if you played League of Legends, but Nidalee used to heal upwards of 600 HP on a 8 second CD way back when. She also would routinely deal 1k+ damage with spears at 20 minutes, one-shotting a whole swash of champions.

Just because you can negate or counter something, doesn't make it less broken. It still crushes (and I do mean crushes) every other weapon that has a similar function, all while having the perks all Orks innately have (AKA being excessively durable). It has more accuracy, more projectile speed, more range (in terms of PC) and more damage than any other weapon that is designed to siege. The weapon was annoying when it was inaccurate, but bearable. It was annoying when every single shot wasn't a pin-point Lascannon blast firing at me from across the map without an indicator.

Make it go slower. Make it less accurate. You can keep the damage but there needs to be an indication that it's firing. Orks are the durable faction. They zerg. They do not need a hyper-accurate explosive OHK.

Bit of misinformation here I'd like to clear up. The Kannon does not do its full damage in its entire blast radius, I've had multiple incidents of firing the kannon at a git behind cover, seeing the hit marker and they come running out of cover badly hurt but clearly not dead.

Gotta admit, I never saw someone survive a kannonshot. It was either remain unscratched or be completely dead. But if you are sure of your observation, then I applaud you for your clarification.
