Always nice, when people pop into a nice lead discussion, a stomp everything by shouting around without using their brains... Wouldn't make sense to suggest things, that are already present...don't you think so? The only one, who is pissing of people here, is YOU! All the others just discussed...calmly...
I think its nicer when people actually some research. Research? Is that even the correct word? Its what, 4 newsletter and one FAQ? They actually said they they are shipping out with just those 4 factions as playable. Funny how you couldnt prove anything I said wrong. Cheers.
What has this got to do, with what I said? Uhhmmm...right...nothing! Could it be, that I didn't even cared about what you said, because of the way you said it? The discussion was already over at that point you stomped in...and it makes no sense to talk any further in that way...so...I'm out. Won't be my game...
Actually it does, you sarcastically pointed how "nice" it is to have people "stomp in without using their brains" and I pointed out that it would be nicer to see people read the information the devs have put out than just making random suggestions, which is a reference on you and this thread. From what I can read, you game is some sort of WoW Clone, where everyone is a hunter with 7 pets and gameplay will bogs down to zerg rushes. I'm glad it won't be your game.
Only person who seems pissed off is you Redwun. I did mention it in the OP, and reiterated it later that the suggestion is well outside the realm of suggestions Behaviour is looking for here. Really just sharing something I'd been thinking of for a while. I still don't understand how people think that server strain is an issue. Do you really think 500v500 battles are fun? Do you really think they can possibly happen often at all, or even ever? The vast vast vast majority of time will be smaller 5v5 or so battles, at which point if each player is 5 "characters" you have 50 "characters all fighting. If you can't see the difference between what I'm suggesting and a pet or companion system then I don't think you actually read it. Why you can't remove yourself from the WoW clone indoctrination of all games needing to be the same I'll never know.
For me they are, one of my best gaming experiences was PS2, scarred mesa, a base almost impossible to cap if it was defended, more than a 1000 people fighting for the base the rest of the map was almost empty lol, the lag was awful, the draw distance was something like 10 meters but i defended the base for 2 hours and enjoyed every second of it. Yes they will, not every single fight will have 1000 people, but most of them will be a few hundred people killing eachother. The game will be a horrible failure and will be shutdown way before the battles become 5vs5. Try Planetside 2 (is f2p) and you will have an idea of what the battles can be in EC.
Coming at it from the more MMO based side, I have fond memories of Tarren Mill zergs in WoW with a hundred or so players. From an actual gameplay standpoint they were pretty awful with no impactful decisions being made by either side and just vague trench warfare stay out of range of the enemy fighting. Even breaking down to 20v20 fights can end up like this in more traditional MMOs. I don't mean a warfront or battle zone or whatever the battles will be called in this game will be 5v5 but that most actual fighting inside the battles will be smaller groups facing off against each other. At the smaller level the decisions individual players make and the coordination between them can actually impact fights. To me, that is a ton more fun than just the bigger zerg winning. My squad system really tries to straddle those two worlds. Making the smaller scale battles more epic by adding more characters fighting in them, while retaining the impactful decision making and coordination of smaller group combat. If the majority of gameplay is sitting on top of 100 other players waiting for someone else to charge forward into the enemy group of 100 players, then calling it an MMO is more than a bit of a misnomer and seems anathema to the 40k universe. Id like to see more of a hybrid skillshot action combat MMO than just a third person shooter. Literally have zero desire at all to play that game.
You see what I meant, Davroth? It's a waste of time trying to talk with him...just shouting around...spilling out bull****... I thought - like you - that this is a suggestion-forum. And a suggetion is - as far as I know - an idea to change something that's present or do something new...so, referring to FAQs or Newsletter is quiet pointless in a suggestion-forum... And maybe a dev reads it and thinks about it...maybe not. I never meant to give orders or something like that. And if they don't read it or don't like the idea and can it...fine, I can life with that... But it seems, we are only here to stfu and praise the devs in their godlike wisdom. So I shall burn for my heretics...
Excuse me Cart, but what? Since you're too godamn incompetent to stand up for your own point of view it becomes me just shouting? FAQs and newsletters are pointless? Really Cart? The only source of information of stuff confirmed by the devs to be in the game or how at least how their end product is going to look like is pointless? No Cart, I'm sorry. Pointless is making bad suggestions. You can just say that I'm a crier or a rager again, deep down inside we all know you are incapable of defending your own suggestions. Furthermore you've been constantly attacking me directly rather than my viewpoint or the points I keep bringing up. Relying so much on ad hominems just shows me how weak you own arguments are.
