If I'm not mistaken, when you look at the artwork that comes with the story, you can notice that the devastator marine has 10th company marking on his shoulder which in fact is BS because the 10th company has only... scouts.
Maybe this is a Death Watch operation that's calling in extra backup. That might explain why BT were denied entry since in the lore they don't like working for death watch, it makes them home sick.

(yes I also do chuckle at the irony of an ultramarines company not following official codex rules, but that is all, chuckle, I don't put down the artwork because of it)

You are taking it out of proportions, I suggest you take a cold shower. Nobody is raging over the devastator having a wrong markings, I'm just poiting it out. We are having a mature discussion over here. The artwork is awesome and so is the story, but it's details like this that made Warhammer 40k universe what it is now. Everyone makes mistakes and it's up to the devs and the fans to sort out these kinds of problems through discussion on forums. Fans contribute to the game with their ideas, fan art and reports of problems / bugs. Only like this can we make the final product better. I understand that there are people who have lax approach to the game, and they don't care if it's the first company that has terminators or the tenth. I also know, for a fact, that there are a lot of hardcore fans who don't want the the universe to be changed the wrong way because of the lax fans. I'll say it again, it's up to the devs and the fans, to find a perfect balance between making the game "playable" and true to the lore.
