God that is some bad writing, I would rather the BAs get nearly wiped out instead of being saved like a damsel in distress.
Too convenient and just feels bad. Blood Angels should have lost. Could still have members of various Chapters survive and reappear later saving Rowboat's butt or someone elses. 'Nids should have had their victory in addition to how crazy that'd make that sector of space.
The Nids ate through an entire system defended by the Blood Angels and all of their successor chapters, and it still took the combined "help" from Necrons, what was probably one of the largest Daemonic incursions ever witnessed, and a Primarch and his army to defeat them. If anything, that shows how dangerous they are. Still very badly written though.
