i'm not tau expert.. is female because?
  2. The Y-shaped slit on the forehead means it is a female fire caste Tau, males have an I-shaped slit. According to the old Xenology fluff, it shows that the Ethereal caste has no outward signs of gender according to the dissected female ethereal shown. They do mention an exceptional sense of smell though and that ethereals have organs that produce pheromones, which would explain how they differentiate males from females if it's a common trait to the species.
  3. Well considering that GW has a development cycle of 1.5 to 2 years for models (longer in some cases), and the art is a good representative of the other, current battlesuits I believe the art is pertinent to speculation on what the XV86 Coldstar will look like.

This release makes me a bit sad. Not because I would deny Tau their spiffy new models (even if I personally dislike this one), but it reeks of standardisation or streamlining among the factions. Disregarding the sales factor, the primary reason for the inclusion of Eldar and Imperial Knights could have been seen as something like "Bringing ancient fluff into the crunch". But now, with this model which I believe is entirely new in fluff, and keeping the (smaller) Dreadknight and the (consonant-)Nauts in mind, it just seems GW wants to give every faction a Knight equivalent.

This is doomsaying, sure, but I'm afraid what happens when all factions share the same basic unit templates. After all, the 7E Codices did a great part in streamlining the armies already.

That being said, I would pay to get insight into the sales numbers of FW's new titan. Does size alone really affect sales that much?
  5. This is the problem with GW as of late: They are focusing on bigger and bigger models that dumb down the TT.

As for FW titan sales, its not the size, but the lore that make people buy it imo. Sure the size is incredible, but knowing you have a warlord titan would be a great feeling

Guys,my appologies for asking probably in the wrong thread, but I was involved in a lore dicsussion,so I want to know your opinions about th Eye of Terror campaign. The problem:were the results of 13th Black Crusade under the Eye of Terror Campaign aсknowledged by the GW as lore?In accordance with the CSM Codex M41,999 13th Black Crusade have been just started.However,13th Black Crusade Background Book, White Dwarf, some Black Library cicles describe a part of these events as finished. So could we presume, that main battles for Cadian Gates, subsectors, planets are done and facts not from rulebooks, codes and so on are in line with GW lore timeline?Thx for your opinions.

All I can tell you is that, during the upcoming Campaign of Arkhona, the Thiteen Dark Crusade will be close to its ending.

the eye of terror campaing was retconned: now the 13th black crusade is not ended
  9. Black_DrozD Black_DrozD First Blood!

But some results of these events were stipulated in, for example, Codex Skitariii (Agripinaa and Mordax/Moredakka), Harlequins (Ahriman and Black Library).it seems to me, that this campaign was not totally retconned.
  10. More Tau love from FW.
