You know, if I were part of said guild squad and the leader in particular, I would explain the random player that he is doing something wrong and would try to get him to do the right thing, instead of just going toxic. Even if he was playing poorly, that doesn't justify acting like that. Try to be polite and teach him, and if he doesn't try to be a better player and seems to just be trolling, then kick him out.

Ok, lets put it that way. Rhino is squad's property, not a squad leader's, not a squad member's. Its property by 10% shared by everyone in squad and everybody have a right to decide what to do with it. If 9 people agrees that a Rhino should move south and one member wants to move it north against the will on nine..well, they have a right to take that Rhino. Because 1 person ruins the game for other 9. It could be guild, could be randoms - doesnt matter. Pugs can decide to vote kick you if you act against the will of majority. And that is why we have vote kick option in game. To deal with people who in any way interrupt fun of others.

The basic rule of any society - you can live anyway you want, but your actions shoudnt disturb others. This game as a the other games has purpose in it - main goal, and it is victory. Its logical goal for most players and no one can to deny that. Rhino is needed to achieve that goal. The discussion could be the way they asked you - we dont know what happened before they wrote that rude sentence to you.
