I know you're eldar but if it's Matt Ward being impaled could you add in some non-ultramarine space marines looking on approvingly?
That ain't exactly fair to late comers though. Not good saying a big FU to the people who we will be relying on in order for EC to survive. The guild system has to accommodate everyone both early and late else you will piss off new comers. Also the guild feature is a selling point of the game so it has to remain unbiased.
1- This is not the only opportunity to get a custom banner. They said more than one time guilds will be able to get it in other occasions, lots of them. How to get it will change, as they said, like winning a contest. This round is probably thought to ''push the adrenaline'' for the incoming release... and as a starting support for the guild sistem. Also, they probably chose the number as parameter because it's the easiest way... 'cause after all this is only the first of many many opportunities. 2- They don't make everyone able to use the custom banner probably because they want to use the possibility of a banner as a reward to make guild sistem work better. And 'cause it could lead to a total spam... and probably because making them in game is not that easy as we all think. 3- Using ''effort'' or ''activeness'' as parameters is wrong 'cause both of them are quite subjective... and even more, because it would be a dirty bitch-slap to all new comers. One could just have had real life problems that stopped him to come before and do a lot of stuff during development... It's not fair.
Well, these first guildbanners are kinda supposed to be for the guilds who have been with the game for the longest? Thats exactly why they are doing it now before launch? I mean I don't care that much but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean you don't have to like it, but thats how it is They don't have time before launch to make the banners anyway, so why are they selecting the guilds now before launch? Hmm?
I know for launch there's nothing really to go by but guild size, but once campaigns are in could we go by "Highest average contributions to campaign" with the # of banners spread out between certain size guilds?
Right now BE created hype to kill each other inside each faction for some custom texture. Forum wars and hatred is part of it. Personally I think banner should be earned in battle and not by recruiting some ppl and mentioning "dead souls" in your ranks. Quantity is not equal to quality of the guild (That's for sure) and pushing with zerg will only work in open world but not in session game. So small and average guilds can kick ass to big one because they are better players. What is the measure then of best guild in faction?
I disagree with the right to "earn" your guild banner. Instead make it so that the winner(s) of the tournament get a gold / silver / bronze skull to place on their banner, a star, a rune, a squig, helmet, what ever floats your space ship /rock. This way every group can aspire to greater glory and get the most "stuff" on their banner (until it's to heavy and breaks). It is also more inspiring View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTduy7Qkvk8
I suppose you should contact Nathan and try to make sure his hand-drawing skills are good ! Also is that any server related? For instance once we have local servers, I won't put a damn nail on NA servers from my good old EU ! So in the current state of the "contest", it could be very possible most banners end up being on one single server while the other(s) server(s) are left behind for the 1st wave of banners? And what about the guild splitting? I guess most of huge guilds have people from everywhere in the world, will the banner be granted to all servers no matter the number of people a said guild has on a said server? Don't get me wrong I don't care having a banner if it's not spilled with blood anyway, it would just be sad to have most goodies on one server while the other is just waiting for his turn eventually.
