Perfect conclusion I would add that chainsword with dmg mod and life steal mod > power sword with life steel mod. Heavy attacks charges quicker and with +1 stamina you can endlessly roll around and charge heavies..none can withstand. And it's cheaper than power weapon. With dmg mod chainsword does more dmg on tyranid dummies than later. I use power sword only because it looks better with shield visually
I lost clang to a choppa.... I had a PF.... All he kept doing was spamming heavy, so i counter with quicks, but we all know that doesn't counter. This is why i hate playing ground assault sometimes..
I play all races other than Chaos, never liked them in 40k or WFB either, and you have hit the nail on the head there. Orks co-ordinate together, play together as a team, as do Eldar to some extent, far more than LSM do. LSM seems full of lone wolfs and kill chasers who have very little concept of team and objective play. I actually play my ground assault with shield and the Iron Bane power axe and it is a strong, if slow setup, very good at guarding points, with mutual ranged support.
More than once ive been in a 2v1, my GA's shield held long enough between backdodging and dbash for my full "armor" bar to fill up and then i eventually succeeded in winning said 2v1. I have also pushed toward a plasma devastator with my shieldbro(fun fact the shield blocks a full plasma overcharge before breaking) after surviving the plasma overcharge i was able to close the gap and get em with a heavy attack. Shields are good, its just how you use em.
Melee is a mess at the moment. It was good during 23 patch Nonetheless, when melee goes against ranged for a duel..The outcome 99% is clear..
I almost squealed in joy the first time I punched a Havoc and sent him flying away from me. He didn't just fall down, his body FLEW backwards into the wall before crumpling to the ground. It was like I hit him with a tank. Best day ever.
Its amazing when that happens hey!! I did one the other day on a devastator up on the wall at a fortress, and he flew out of render distance haha
Try your hand at using a heavier weapon when you get the chance. Drop some requisition points on a power axe or mace. When you have a heavier weapon, you can easily out-clang most enemies. If your opponent is silly enough to just attack spam you, just do the same back to him and he will drain his own durability in a few seconds. Free kill. If you find an opponent that knows how to "parrying blow" (aka Dbash) then learn to aim strong attacks. Side note, I don't use lock on at all while playing traitor assault. I just don't feel there's a need for it, since it's tracking is extremely poor. Also, from Chaos-side-PoV, storm shields are really really tanky.
