Hey guys, I got a quick question for you lore pros. What chapter both in-game and not used the ground assault marines? Was it all of them or was there a few that used them more than others?

Basically all chapters use "ground assaults" They are just assault marines who have removed the jump packs to be able to ride in rhinos. It's also the assault marines that man landspeeders and bikes/attack bikes for what it's worth. As far as I'm aware no chapters really have more assaults than others(excpetions being spacewolves/black templars, due to them having more men in general) Your average battle company will have 20 assault marines, deployed in some combination of assaults with and without jump packs, and bike/speeder crews. Additionally the 8th company of each chapter consists entirely of assault squads, which are attached to battle companies as needed.
TARINunit9, Lurvy and XavierLight like this.
  4. Ground Assaults are, like Ivanzypher said, Assault Marines without jump-packs, which is effectively a naked assault squad in tabletop (gotta pay to get jump-packs these days).

Regarding your second question, it really depends on the situation. You don't bring jump-packs to fight underground, inside a spaceship or a building. Closest chapters to actively field them lore-wise are Space Wolves (in-game), Imperial Fists (in-game) and Black Templars. Space Wolves recklessly throw their fresh recruits at the enemy with pistols and swords/axes, Imperial Fists are known for siegecraft and void warfare, which involves a lot of tight quarters combat, and finally Black Templars deploy Crusader squads in place of tacticals, who are frequently equipped for melee rather than ranged.
    Lurvy and TARINunit9 like this.

Basically, your answer is Black Templars. They luuurve the jump-pack-less assaults.

And the name Eternal Crusade comes from their standard.

    But they're not in game.

    For reasons.

Space wolf grey hunters are pseudo ground assaults as they have a bolter and chainsword as standard equipment.
Blood claws are dedicated ground assault however as they only get a chainsword and bolt pistol.
  7. As of 7th, Grey Hunters need to buy their chainswords, they only get bolters and bolt pistols.

really, no one speaking about Flesh Tearer ?
You know the barbarian chapter which LOVE gonna fight with their chainsword and power fist like crazy monster ?

"Flesh Tearers operations therefore have large numbers of assault marines and transport-mounted squads."
  9. You are forgetting one if not the most assault type chapter:
    The white scars.
  10. Except that they rely on motorcycles and land speeders, not necessarily running around which is the topic of the thread.
