People hate Kaldor Draigo now, but if Grey Knights are playable then everyone will want to be as awesome as him.
He's not really awesome he's really fanfictiony "And and and then right there's like this one Grey Knight who is suuupeeerrr coool!!!! and he like like went into the eye of terror and slapped Nurgle and Beat Mortarion....TWICE!!!" probably part of the reason he's so hated is that he reads like a 12 year old wrote him. The one awesome Grey Knight of the new age is I think his name is Castellan? (Captain Daemonsword)
Each army has their fanboy super character (some have more than one). And I agree Draigo is over the top. It seems to be a bit of a tradition at GW with each codex to see if someone (not just ward) can come up with a more powerful "leader". After all the blood angels have Dracula...
In fairness Dracula became Dracula over time; he didn't originate as a Fanfiction Character in the way Draigo did and few if any factions outside of Ultramarines (who are composed of 100% Fanficiton quality characters ) have characters of Draigo's level of bad terrible bad writing.
not really. if you are saying gaghzkull or asrubadael vect are badly written, your just wrong. sure you can say they are mary sues, but they arent perfect. and they're well written.
1d4chan said it was. or said that some people think it was. and 1d4chan is popular enough a website that i trust that the opinions of a significant percentage are influenced/decided/put there. search his name if you want to see. and asrubadael because hes the leader of the dark eldar who has foiled every assassination attempt etc. they said gaghzkull was basically grimgor ironhide in 40k on 1d4chan--who they call a mary sue. grimgor is easily one of my favorite characters in fantasy, and he's been beaten, so thats just not true. so i take it with a grain of salt--and as you can see, i dont think any of the afformentioned characters are sue's.
