Well the actual "Imperial Truth" is that it was the self serving nature of personal pride, arrogance, and power which drew certain Word Bearers to seeking out "powers" beyond their understanding to further their own strength after the shame that was brought unto them by defying the Emperors decree that they stop worshipping him as a God. The Word Bearers, used religion to justify their own selfish ends and go over and above what they were mandated to do. They superseded, the Emperors wishes and in the end due to Horus's weaken state made the differences in perspective between loyalist and traitor a philosophical debate about the metaphysical, by practicing a very corrupting religion that was at the heart of the Heresy, it was in fact a ideological crusade, one might even say the first Black Crusade ever with Horus at the helm. The Traitors thought much as many here do, that if they could tear down the edifice of the Emperor and Terra that there would be nothing to stop them from being Gods themselves, and that was their one greatest blunder. For no Chaos power would have ever let that happen. In essence the Traitors are the fools for thinking they could ever match that omnipotence, or that their hubris would ever be allowed to exist beside that of the Chaos powers themselves, which by definition is far more selfish then any Astartes could ever be. The Masters of power do not share that power to it's fullest, and so in the end they are pawns, slaves of the Dark Powers. Used in a grand game, whereby their existence means little. So go back to your Dark Masters and flail and beg for your meager portion of power from their great feasting table and see how loud they laugh, in your face.
You confuse the Word Bearers for Erebus and Kor Phearon. They were the manipulators that did not allow for a proper stemming of the new towards greater ends, instead trying to cement their own powers, and why neither have been awarded daemonhood. Erebus desired control, and even slew one of the best of us in order to obtain it, grimdark indeed. The Word Bearers and Lorgar had higher ideals than simple arrogant pride. They did not go "above" their mandate, they defined their own. They believed that Faith and Enlightenment were intrinsically intertwined, and that the godless doctrine of the Imperium was not only falsehood, but would ultimately doom them to stagnation. The enforced ignorance of the Imperium became a virtue amongst the misguided masses, and your Mechanious is based in such idiotic principles that label innovation the blackest of blasphemies by Imperial belief. The Word Bearers follow the Pantheon, undivided worship keeping the balance of the Chaotic Powers, as any one in excess brings ruination. Many have lost their way in the course of the millenniums of the Long War, but selfishness of purpose was the sin of the few, not the Legion. And the Chaos Gods do not award power to those that grovel at their feet, they award who seize it from the scorched bones of their enemies. Your lack of understanding does not surprise me.
I do not confuse the Word Bearers for Erebus and Kor Phearon, I see them all as one and the same. Because as you well know both Traitor and Loyalist alike were taught the same observances of Brotherhood and Camaraderie. Legionare Ranks, and Philosophies backed every Legion Tactical or Strategic Doctrine at work and made way for the entire conversion of a Legion, with only rare exceptions. This means that while I agree a few may have begun the process, it was inevitable and designed to work in the manner I have described. In the end the Word Bearers as a whole used religion to their benefit. The power grab and subsequent internal strife between Erebus and Kor Phearon was also religiously motivated and thus as the Emperor had stated unconstructive toward Humanities growth. The Emperors "Imperial Truth" is different from the Imperial Truth taught today. Science and Knowledge were supposed to enlighten Humanity and he saw religion as falsifying reality. What made the Word Bearers and Lorgar think that their "Higher Ideals" (whatever those were) were needed? Why would the Son of the Emperor feel he was required to fulfil such a grand design? It was hubris pure and simple, Lorgar thought himself to know better than his own Father, a vastly more intelligent man than himself. The Irony of the situation is that it was faith which stagnated the Imperium, and still does to this day. The Mechanicus withdrew into a very cloistered and secretive cult of technology and knowledge because of the religious beliefs being cultivated by the Zealots of the time, Had not religions reared their ugly heads the illumination of the Emperor would have shimmered down upon Humanity and instead of Gods and Faiths, we would have Science and Knowledge. It was the worship of the Chaos powers which prevented that 10,000 years ago, and that same issue has been fought over ever since.
there is proof all over, that fool himself said he is a traitor and his obsession with the witch has damned him. He has defended the eldar at every turn and has asked for her help repeatedly. He would rather walk with eldar cockroaches then stand with his brothers. He has blasphemed the rules set by our emperor. We the iron hands have a reason for not trusting our brothers and Balthazar is a poster child for that reason. we the iron hands seek to destroy xenos and crush chaos when it shows its face. To agree with Balthazar is heresy, if he would rather fight next to the eldar and his witch then stand proud next to his brothers then so be it. My group will show no mercy. Can you all claim victory if you won with the help of xenos to obtain it? The iron hands can not and will not fight with xenos. We use cybernetics to help us fight longer and harder, there is a good reason we say the flesh is weak because it makes people rely on others for help. we lost our primarch because of the weakness in ourselves and others and we will not have a repeat of history ever again. fight with xenos at your own risk. I ask you all a question: would you rather have help from xenos or the help of my chapter? you decide brothers.
This is your mistake bannus , you declare me a heretic because of my words to side with the Xenos during this dire time , even a little help to them you would say I lost my mind to chaos , It's you that have lost your mind , your metal is weak , you clouded the minds of battle brothers everywhere and told them I'm traitor even though it's even true, Your primach has fallen for reason only , he died to save fulgrim And I will die to save you from chaos , brother
