For completely screwing up tonights matches ... 10 of them in each match i had and most of chaos couldnt cap more than 1 point let alone even assault / defend anything else So about that balance issue ... yeah pugs V well oiled groups = a crap game MAYBE an ok game but not gonna see a win and if this game is going to use EXP as a currency like PS2 and other games its going to become really boring really fast getting farmed by guilds this big ... Yeah yeah alpha and all that normal crap, 'git gud' etc etc the MM needs fixing to not let this many tagged players from the same clan in against pugs. I cant wait to see the 'contest' clan v clan ... see who wins that ..... if i could put money on a winner i know who i would be backing ...
It's not so much that the matchmaker needs to differentiate between tagged players, I feel, as the imbalance in having multiple 5-man (or whatever the limit becomes set to as the game develops) warparties dropped onto the same faction side in a single match where the other side has none present. That definitely could use some tweaking, as having 10 coordinated people and 5 pubs against 15 pubs (but lets be honest, lately having 10 total on CSM is more accurate) is almost always going to end in exactly one way, with individual capacity to change the battle not having much weight when the group of 10 move together and overwhelm anything they come across through sheer numbers if nothing else. There's changes coming, since as you noted it is an alpha, and things should level out from the significant imbalance that the factions currently face. It's important not to misconstrue the reasons for things happening when other factors are in effect, as doing so leads to thing like the MoN being heavily nerfed as a knee-jerk reaction instead of just fixing the bugs that were present first.
It'll be less of a problem when the first big balance pass comes through (soon) - PG and other clans often use the most effective weapon/class combinations (cough shieldbro cough). As for the pub vs premade argument... please don't go there, we've had more than enough threads on the topic.
It isn't PG's fault though I've just rage quit too. This is a PvP game, you play to win or not at all. Sadly none of the guilds on Chaos are active or run more then three guys to a team very often. The answer to premades is to make your own premade. If anyone is interested in starting one I play Raptor.
It sucks fighting a premade but more often than not the biggest part of that problem is the team against them just quits any kind of teamplay on their side, starts bitching, stops listening to eachother etc. So really is it a problem made by PG or just the new mentality of players that has grown stronger over the years wanting clans to be segregated from casual play. I understand the sentiment for fairness but its sucks vs the community getting motivated to use the same tools (Voip, call outs on objectives, sticking in squads) to fight the clans, its not impossible....then again getting people to play together is apparently difficult...thus I join a clan lol.
The worst part of that part about pub players is when they refuse to work together. There was some thread a while ago where someone proudly stated, "I turned off my in-game voice comms because I heard two people arguing for a few seconds once and I don't want to hear that". I can't even believe someone is that thin-skinned on the Internet, and beyond that, I can't believe they would make a long-term, far-reaching decision like not listening to/calling out on voice comms over something so trivial. Being in a clan doesn't automatically make you coordinated, but there are players who strive to be uncoordinated, and it's just eye-roll worthy.
Preatorian Guard bleed. Preatorian Guard die, and they can die badly. They may be more organized, but they can still be killed. I'v beaten them countless times both with the Lash and without them.
Guilds OP. Nerf Guilds. Thread locked, not letting this spiral into another 10+ page debate on how people who play as a team in a team based game should be put at a disadvantage.
