So I was playing Eternal Crusade to check out fighting with Eldars. My marine was unable to kill even ONE of it. When my assault jumps closer to one of then that warlock starts swinging with it's little sword and my assault is unable to do ANYTHING! When the close combat mechanics will be better? I feel like my marine is so big retard -.-
Some, but that was just ONE alien. It wasn't shooting or anything. How retarded marine can't kill aliens. My friend Im playing with says the same shit.
In order to even begin to kill things in melee combat you should start by using your other attacks like the defensive bash (left and right click) and the charge attack (by hold right click). Instead of going into clang battles, try rolling and maneuvering during melee combat.
Yep learn how to use D-Bash instinctively as soon as the first hit comes. Also learn how to quickly turn to face the attacker (especially raptors/assault/hawks/whatever the orks have). Also try and carry a melta bomb if you are a heavy weapons user as even though you are most likely gonna die you can at least bring the bugger down with you. Lunge attack is really only useful usually for surprise attacks or using on someone already engaged in combat I find. Trying to pull it off in a 1 v 1 rarely works out due to the long pause before it hits (you don't even have time to use it while they are stunned which is pretty naff). So just concetrate on facing, timeing D-bash and when its safe to use fast attack to get the hits in. Also learn how to evade effectively. It can be extremely useful to evade just after you have been stunned as the enemy is usually spamming fast attack at that point and you are now behind them to get a few back stabs in though you need to get that facing down to a T in order to pull it off.
