Multi melta isn't that bad. Granted this is against the freshly nerfed Eldar armor. The no-dropoff from range is nice.
Are we seriously comparing a weapon that takes like 20+ seconds to kill a vehicle to prepatch Melta right now? The weapon that takes about 2.5 seconds to charge the shot, then 1.5 seconds to reload a single shot to do it again? That weapon? You guys are embarrassing yourelves right now.
I've just played an entire game with melta and I can tell you guys that it takes about 2 overheats and a melta bomb to take down a Rhino. I also can tell you that running around with MoS and burning/knifing people to death is surprisingly fun and killy. The other useful piece of information I have is that the cow goes "moooo". That's all.
How many melta bombs does it take to kill a vehicle now? If the bombs do the same damage, then the melta gun will still be very effective. However, bear in mind that Eldar Fire Dragon can equip TWO melta bombs...so that could still be OP in comparison to the other factions. If the melta gun has been nerfed to an acceptable level though, then it should be buffed to be slightly more effective vs. infantry. Not to where it was in Alpha when it was stupid OP, but it should load up a little more up-front damage than it does today. Prior TTK with 1 Melta bomb and 1 Melta/Fusion gun was about 5 seconds. Five seconds! That's too short for one guy to run around and eliminate the other team's forward-spawn points. Even if it takes 4 full melta blasts to kill a vehicle, if the melta bomb's damage was untouched (I can't play to test right now) then it still means you'll be able to kill a vehicle solo in about 10 seconds or so, maybe less. Eldar would still be able to one-shot vehicles by just running up with a dual melta-bomb custom loadout and running off. Has the melta bomb been addressed as well or is it doing the same damage that it was?
No, I was referring to a Dev's Answer about the double speed mechanics regarding Melee. I don't give a shit about the standard Melta. But they fucking went on Rampage on the Vulcan Melta and I'm moorning its death.
The Inquisition is now locking this information alongside the "Water is wet and Fire is burning" documents.
I still say they nerfed the wrong weapon. A meltagun marine can be interrupted. A fusion gun fire dragon, a little less so but still vulnerable. But a suicide meltabomb is impossible to stop; they sprint too fast and have almost no arming time
Excellent nerf of the melta! I have found the following to work and appreciate the nerf. 1 Bomb and 2 sprays 1 krak and 3 sprays 3 sprays and change It fits better with the other anti-vehicle weapons.
