Couldn't agree more with the OP, the game isn't perfect (I've yet to play a perfect game)but it's a joy to play and is improving with every patch. I don't care about so called promises or unfulfilled things, what I care about is whether this is a game I can see myself investing a lot of time in, and it definitely is. I happen to have a decent amount of disposable income too, so I'll be making my characters look sexy with RTC stuff once there's more visual customisation in game. In short @Oveur and team; keep up the great work, there's plenty of us who appreciate it and can't wait to see where this journey takes us. I'd mention there's a massive silent majority who don't post on here or steam but also love the game. So ignore the vocal trolls, they just love a moan.
That's actually a really good point. We have many players in our guild that enjoy the game and look forward to the progress but don't visit the forums here. Some of them will actually tell you to stop complaining when a player needlessly starts pouring salt on the game during an event.
While the game has some issues. I am just glad it was made at all. I mean, how lucky are we to get a 40K shooter that lets you play, not only as Space Marines, but also Chaos, Orks and frickin' Eldar. I mean it is a rarity for a non-40k RTS to let you play as other races. And not to mention that we are getting Terminators and more in the future. After seeing GW's recent mobile trash, coupled with THQ falling in and Dark Millenium being canned. This is a godsend. While the devs may be a bit amateurish, I get the feeling they love the universe. This game may be rough around the edges, but given some time I think they can make a truly great 40K game. Its no DoW1, but its better than most games using the 40K IP.
Our guild too has a lot of people who do not post here simply because of all the silly hatred. They don't see any point in making targets of themselves. But they do enjoy the game. I am just silly and so expect people on the internet to have brains and the ability to read. I keep forgetting the words attributed to Winston Churchill. 'You can lead a fool to knowledge, but you cannot make him think!' Everyone has opinions. Some are just more blatant than others about demanding that their opinions be fact. I also like writing fanfics.
As I always say on patch notes comments: keep up the good work! Thank you for bringing a nice multiplayer 40k shooter to life. You've achieved a lot for such a small/less known studio, and despite not everything went as desired, you keep working your asses off to create what both you and us want: an awesome 40k shooter with many factions, equipment and vehicles. While there's still work to be done, every patch reduces how much work is left. You've shown that you want to be as transparent as possible and that you acknowledge our feedback and the important issues we raise. I'm sad you have to deal with insults and threats from random strangers, but if others have endured that, you will too. Again, let me say: keep it up!
This thread will go off the rails soon, its just that kind of thread. At the very least, can the 'haters' (such a gimmicky-term) at least agree that this game paves the way for less Space Marine-centric games. I mean, without this the only xeno-centred shooter is Fire Warrior, and yeah... that was over 10 years ago and it got pretty 'eh' reviews.
I'll post before this gets out of hand. I'll admit that i'm not that happy with the game, i got my ups and downs with it but i fully intend to keep playing for a simple reason, its getting better and better every big patch. So yeah, thanks for your work @Oveur @NoahWard @KatieFleming @Houman @BrentEllison and the rest of the team which names i can't recall right now, even if its going to be a really bumpy road i'm going to stick playing Eternal Crusade be it alone or with the guild
