It was originally intended to be a lighthearted joke about a topic that really isn't all that important. But now that I think about it Behavior has been caving quite a bit, remember when being a founder was going to get us interesting and unique items that were a bit of a reward for putting our money where our mouths were and investing basically sight-unseen in a game we believed in? Now we're get the equivalent of TF2's retarded hats. Whoopty doo! Maybe they should consider only releasing on consoles so that were all forced to play like peasants, we wouldn't want anyone paying to win with decent gaming rigs.
Heh. Well, in fairness, the main gripe about the unique items was the potential perceived P2W risk. The Founders were divided about it from the outset, and many were happy when cosmetics only / all RTS items having in-game equivalents was reintroduced. A good example of the recurring theme that the Founders disagree on damn near everything, but one which is slightly off topic here.
Well, y'see, that's the problem with this whole thing. There ISN'T a minority. If BE decides to make a "yes or no" decision, they WILL alienate about half the community in doing so. Or at least a third, given that there's probably an equal number of people who don't give a damn either way. At any rate, I'd like to reiterate that I do not and will never commend clear-cut black-and-white decisions when a compromise that has the potential to please all parties is available.
I entirely agree, although I continue to have a beef with the "compromise" position as being a pain in the ass for people objecting to gifs based on forum load times, as it only solves the problem after the fact. Still, it's mildly more attractive than wiping out all signatures. Either way, it's not going to prompt a ragequit from me, at least.
I know its a bit nitpicky, but i really don't like gif signatures because i find them irritating while reading posts. And sometimes posts are too short/small to hide said gifs with a wall text.
You realize that both your sig and my sig are technically gifs, which is why I am really against banning them, because of the cool sigs Crioxus has made.
