Only poison bypasses armour. Fire and Melta still have to remove armour before reducing health. Both armour and health benefit from toughness.
This is not entirely true. Armour helps if you are isolated from your team living off the armour regen between fights. Health is superior to armour if you are with a medic, as health can be restored not only between fights, but during fights. A large health pool makes you harder to bring down while near a medic, whilst a large armour pool makes you able to survive longer without a medic. Armour = Good for lone wolves or teams without medics Health = Good for teamwork and teams with medics
You just gave me flashbacks to Eve. Should I shield tank or armour tank? (Real men hull tank of course, which apparently is no longer a joke.)
Would you settle for our armor turning into Coke cans? I'd change my shoulder pad from the chapter symbol to a Coke Bear.
I agree with the premesis is of this idea and as someone who doesn't TT but has started with Dow 1 and the mass abundance of lore it makes sense to me. I love the number crackers of this site like white and forj
Good point well made but there are a few pit falls in what is otherwise a sound argument. I would argue that wth the current size of the dok bombs unless doks were spammed to high heaven or the bomb size was reduced it wouldn't be feasible for Orks to rely only on health. The bombs would simply be shot and any advantage is lost. Only due to AoE or ranged healing is health superior to armour in a pitched battle, I don't want to be standing still in a firefight while a medic heals me. Healing takes a long time in that case. The AoE is also quite small so this tends to be a defensive rather than offensive advantage. Armour + Health allows greater flexibility in play, Health only is more restricting. Sometimes I need to play 'lone wolf' as I dodge between boxes to get to a vehicle and wreck it, or flank an enemy. Armour regens without the need for anyone else to be present and allows this kind of play when required. It also takes away an otherwise reliance on medics. Since Doks are the worst medic class, I'd rather not have to rely on them.
