Good question. Still, I don't mind so much, its nice to fight something diferent than genestealers that we fight in all space hulk games since the 90s hehe.
I thought it was only Hormagaunt and Warrior corpses in the Garrison. When were Genestealers added? Where abouts are they? I'd like to know when Ripper Swarms, Carnifex and Tyrants will be added to PvE.
Woops, my bad, always thought they was genestealers due to their height, but now that i´ve checked, i realized that they have 4 arms with spikes instead of hands, so clearly they are Hormagaunts. They seems much bigger than they are in the lair. I still wonder if new units are going to be added? :/
Well, Terminators-vs-Genestealers is a classic WH40k-scenario and Terminators are being made right now. So...
That's not what determines a Genestealer. Genestealers, at least where purestrains are concerned, are based on the shape of their backs and heads
Last time I checked the fluff about genestealers and Space-hulk, terminators are the only things capable of putting up a fight against genestealers. Genestealers are like what... WS5? Rending claws and a shit ton of attacks and speed. There's not really a way to outrun them, and fighting them in melee is folly for even a tactical marine. It takes a terminator to handle groups of them. I'm pretty sure they only move in groups, besides the broodlord himself. I think in order for them to be as dangerous as they are supposed to be, the players would need some sort of mounted heavy weapons. Personally I think Lictor would be an awesome opponent to consider. Not something that would directly combat the group like the warrior does, but instead pounces on isolated group members and starts dealing damage like L4D hunters and Vermintide gutter runners, then disappears back into the shadows after being damaged enough. It would require teams to stay close together and protect each other when a Lictor is present.
The Lictor idea is cool. (Also flesh hooks, because it should be a threat that follows you throughout the level until you kill it. Ranged capability is a must.) Genestealers are capable of ripping through Terminator armour, yes, however, they are much less TOUGH. If we had, like, three Genestealers as a boss squad in one of the maps, it would be handled by focus firing them down. And it would be much faster to kill them than the Carnifex/Warrior things we currently have as bosses. They could even be elite units that appear among the gaunts we fight currently, in later parts of the level.
Initiate-level marines put up a decent fight against steangealers all the time, in and out of fluff. Deathwatch teams go up against 'stealers and do great, and the Devastator teams of the Novamarines in Death of Integrity weren't automatically killed to a man just because the 'stealers got close (it wasn't "boltor porn" either because they took something like 60% casualties in the battle in question) (Also, you can't outrun Hormagaunts on the TT, with their Bounding Leap, but you can in EC just fine; I don't see the problems with 'stealers)
