i get that they have them built in, but then how can you take them in TT, and why are their models holding them? and how are they ever snuck up on by a lictor or any cloaked unit for that matter?
I'd say for the world map use an aux. I'd rather not have to press a button to open a minimap. Will that even fit on a controller? Maybe.
I'm fairly certain I recall hearing about a radial wheel menu via a hotkey/controller button. I'd imagine it will be something along the lines of "hold left bumper... radial menu pops up... access waist items.... access X". Possibility for options, abilities, gear slots to fit on the radial wheel are nearly endless. World map really doesn't fit with Auxpex's intended use, and I'd think world map should be pretty much standard for all. As far as Auspex being implemented into EC: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/thr...oadout-item-versus-red-dots-on-minimap.28333/
The auspex's that a Space Marine holds is bigger than his head, which is pretty enormous considering. So it's probably just a more powerful unit. And cuz you can assume that the cloaking other races use would generally include some kind of jamming technology.
I think we forgot this is 3rd person. How do we see the auxpex? I'd say just have a minimap or none. I'd just like to be able to know where my friends are around me.
Maybe that's why Veteran Sergeants remove their helmets. Get rid of the HUD clutter. You don't need compass points to direct a team. You just need readily identifiable landmarks and situational awareness.
Trying this out in Destiny, NO compass or cardinal directions. It's a total pain in the ass calling things out. A lot of the time there are no distinguishing landmarks, other than "that big rock over there" in a valley with hundreds of big rocks. The group of friends I run with, we're all used to calling out contacts "sniper on the hill to the North".... "enemy tank just South of objective Bravo"... "enemy beacon in the shack just south of the helipad". A compass with N/S/E/W is definitely a must for EC! And please give players the option to LOCK the compass arrow to always face North.
you have no idea what you are talking about. and i can bet that you never commanded a team more than 4 people if had ANY commanding experience at all. calling contacts with bearings is the easiest and the most precise way to do it.
