Is the game going to be like Planetside 2 where you need to be in large platoons to be able to make a difference? Or will groups of 5 be able to have an impact and play effectively?
I solo in PS2 and tip fights in my favor all the time. But anyway, I assume it depends on how fast the TTK will end up being. The slower it is the harder it'll be for an individual. And probably how the downed mechanic will work. If anyone and everyone can pick up an ally the difficulty increases further.
The real measure of an individual in games like these is how they affect the actions of others, not what they can accomplish by themselves.
Grab 5 people, grab a predator, make a push, you will die fast of course due the 100 other players at the other side. Or you got a small team near a capture points, inside a room, and your covering the spots holding out. It all depends, you could also do PvE and help your faction through that as well.
i think i'll spend most of my gameplay in a small group shooting at nids. and when i bored and had enough, i'll look for a large fight and help any way i can. i think i will get an auto invite
It's extremely hard to measure individual contribution in large scale combat, I'll give you an example from WW2OL. We had an anti-tank squad behind enemy lines (Only 6 men strong), the Allies had an Armor Column pushing straight up the road towards the contested city. We didn't kill any of the tanks (We couldn't penetrate Sherman armor with Shreks at the range we were fighting from). However the 6 of us did manage to stop the advance for a good 5-10 minutes while they shelled our position and we were eventually overrun by an infantry squad. Despite us not actually killing any of the enemy armor just stalling them meant they didn't have 20 extra shermans in the fight at a pivotal moment.
You trying to say cruising round in biker gangs of 5-6 players won't have a massive impact on the game? "hot damn skalix our allies' chaos bikes are hot let's kill more enemies" "damn i wish i was chaos let's reroll so we can follow these gods of cool" "he he praise the dark gods baby im a biker tearin it up arkhona style" pull off sweet jumps paint your tyres with eldar blood eventually awaken the chaos god of cool and become a daemon prince on your own world of sweet jumps forever nice
Do whatever you want, but having a larger group or guild seems to be better. Wondering how much focus is going into guilds/groups, I dont want the game based entirely around that, give solo players a chance.
