good one but how will you solve about WS/FALCON dropping off Fire dragons into enemy vehicles. You see Eldar vehicle litreally taxing Nuking bomb to enemy vehicles. LSM got Grav weapons so if they defend their rhino well its not a problem but CSM/ORKS cannot do anything but just driving all day.
Press 2, be stormbolter, shoot Fire Dragon in head. Or, y'know, actually read the linked solution and realise that under it, even if they were to bomb your Rhino, you'd have a full Fusion overheat to kill them in. At least.
Melta Bombs NEED a setup time. You should not be able to just run up and tap G to slap a bomb as casually as a real-life sticky grenade -- that's the Krag Grenade's job. Melta Bombs NEED to be an interruptible action that requires standing still. Orks, LSM, Eldar, I play them all and the suicide slapper tactic works basically just as well with all of them. And with Melta Bombs dealing 52% of a vehicle's health, you don't even need your Meltagun
The storm bolter is the weakest of the transport weapons, and has the most horizontal spread. Fire Dragons are very thin and are among the most durable Eldar. The facts are not in the storm bolter's favor. And all melta bomb classes can carry two melta bombs which deal >100% of a transport's health
Every faction can use clown cars to take care of transports. You have clearly bever seen a Multimelta & Grav/Meltabomb combo. Just have two guys in a Predator and you can zip around popping tanks.
And yet, it works. Driving over them, or just..enough to stop the bomb sticking, also work. I know, because I do it when I'm playing against Eldar. Because I know what works against my Fire Dragon. Also, I suggested he read the linked post he was dismissing for a reason, reproduced below: Under the proposed solution, no-one would be instagibbing transports without using their melta/fusion/evilmelta/deargodthepoororks.
If the Fire Dragon player has been playing the game for a total of five minutes, maybe. I have seen SO MANY melta players -- not even Fire Dragons, all four races do this -- slip through a hail of bullets from the transport itself, the passengers, the heavy bolters next door, and the transport in low planetary orbit, and just slap all their bombs on the rear armor, and still have time to brush their teeth before they get gunned down. I have seen squads WAITING for the Fire Dragon and STILL lose their transport after lag compensation fucks them over. IT'S NOT EASY SHOOTING AN ELDAR AT FULL SPRINT, is what I'm saying. Surely you would know this, seeing as it's YOUR RACE'S PRIMARY STRENGTH besides the bladestorm thing
I mean. It's not hard, exactly. Unless you're muscle-memory keyed into leading the slower races, I guess. But then maybe playing Eldar a lot gives me an advantage shooting at Eldar when I don't. Also I'd argue our primary strength is realising that we're utterly dependent on Warlocks who's presence turn us from measly grots into the GREEN TIDE OF WAAAAGH. Because.. I dunno. Arkhona is a practical joke by the Old Ones that inverts their pet races?
I think you're forgetting how vehicles in this game get parked, and how that makes a suicide slapper's job easier. Around corners, tucked into niches, near cover. This is also my fault, I used my argument in the wrong situation and context: yeah, you can gun down suicide slappers out in the open, but that's not where the vehicle is, is it? For most AV weapons, the reasons why are obvious. Sitting out in the open invites weapons with "cannon" in the name. But against suicide slappers, this helps the suicide slapper; the vehicle's own parking space is used against it. And the vehicle itself, since it's basically a wall, is used against any passengers standing guard Unless you score four perfect headshots, or both you and the suicide slapper are on the other side of the corner, you're not downing that suicide slapper with a bolter alone. And the suicide slapper will be too close to even hit with the storm bolter. If you and the slapper are in melee, at this point it's a coin flip whether the lag compensation favors you or the slapper; sometimes you interrupt the throwing animation, sometimes the melta bomb gets slapped down anyway I'll concede you're right on paper, but paper is a flimsy thing that has a tendency to burn when around meltas
