Game state and success moving forward

@Oveur and any having doubts or concerns.

I just wanted to say that I was firmly in the other camp that this game did not have enough in time for launch in a month, but with that said I have firmly embraced that this game will be more than ok if Nathan follows suit anything like Eve Online with this. He did a fantastic job there and I think he has been pretty straight with us on what to expect but I believe they have a good formula for early launch.

I really think this game will do ok, as long as they are keep developing after launch as planned.

So just wanted to throw my hat in with the positive crowd and I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield.

Talking for myself it was exactly oposite.
I was quite sure everything will go well if they will stay in alpha for about 6 months. Leaked interview with Brent made me a bit concerned. After they said there is no release date established I started to belive things will go well but starting to be more more critic. Then with release date set I just pulled my hair and said "WTF?". Lost my trust in devs team.
Still beliving in EC althought and wishing it well. Will stay with it as long as possible. But I think my supposrt to it is reduced to playing and trying to be helpfull with posting my opinions here. I can`t honestly recommend it to my friends and fellow tabletop players.

  3. Honestly, I would also be happy if I paid just for a more advanced "Space Marine"-Multiplayer, but that's not the case. I'll get even more ... in the future.

    My only concerns are:
    - bE will run out of money, or
    - the playercount will be ridiculously low

Other than that, I'm giving the devs all the time they need to implement everything they want. Maybe the game will be very popular in the near future or it will stay as secret tip for W40k-Fans only. We'll see.

I dont think any of us doubt the l337 skills of Oveur, more the borderline impossible situation he found himself in when he took this job and the meddeling of clowns in the release date and schedules for this game.

I can definitely understand this, but looking at how the game plays and if you compare how say Eve had only a small playerbase for a while and it's probably now more successful than ever is a really good sign of things to come.

I also compare to say Warframe which in their case though they have been in beta for a few years now which is their way of bypassing their founders fears of an early launch.

I really do believe this game will follow similar suit where it will be ongoing support and development. They aren't attempting a new model, just following ones that have pioneered the way through difficult waters already.

Warframe has a really great F2P model that no one else has though, which is really the only thing that keeps it going. If it didn't have that F2P system it would likely be dead

Well, I don't know anything about Nathan's exploits in EVE since I don't play it (sure as hell heard the crap out of it) but I've been trying to stay in the optimistic camp the entire time. Almost felt like I was completely alone at some times, but looks like we still have a few Crusaders left. This thread has reaffirmed my faith, thank you for making it.

If you're affected by the negativity of others stay the hell away from the steam forums. It's gotten even worse.

Yes mostly Steam, but EC has that type too but obviously less. It's mostly just raging because they still follow Miguel's lies, or calling whoever still supports the game and tries to reason with them either delusional or don't want to argue yet still try to somehow keep everyone believing that they're right by the power of hashtags and overly short and negative threads that can't hold water or logic and are just obvious trolls.

Haters gonna hate, but usually can't prove anything without insult and denial or crying because of

Well, F2P was only important to Warframe in the beginning, now it has enough contents to justify a full price release, if Digital Extremes wanted to. Warframe started out pretty rough too, I remembered playing the game when it just entered open beta. The gun play, the sound, the melee were all bit clunky, the menu looks incomprehensible, the parkour system was not fully implemented yet and on top of that we have a very grindy farming system. However, it toughed it out and now the game is a hundred fold better.
