My biggest gripe about balance: Unfair matches all around due to the matchmaker. Playing Orkz/Eldar on non-prime time is an exercise in frustration. It's been somewhat managebale lately because our enemy (which is 99% of the times LSM) is full of new players atm. But against any halfway competent group starting out as 10 vs 5 really makes for an unpleasant experience. Also, Eldar/Ork need to be finished. Eldar and Ork are still missing basic mods than both SM's have. Ammo mods for Eldar, melee mods for Orkz (I want Impact on my E.Choppa damnit). Dark Reaper needs some love. Orks Kannon can't reload while braced. And Eldar need something to fight against the hordes of PFist/Klaw users. If our 2 handers are never going to make it, at least make their swords more durable.
What exactly do you disagree on? It's not the best AV. Fire dragons aren't the issue, and the coming nerf to their meltapacks is just unnecessary. Eldar matches change the way the game is played, including the vehicle department. Think of it as all vehicles getting a HP nerf in Eldar matches. You can now destroy their vehicles ridiculously easy. They can now destroy your vehicles ridiculously easy. They don't have the best AV loadout. If anything, fire dragons are the worst since they need to pay much more LP for the privilege of being equally good at something compared to other meltabomb/rokkit/meltagun/gravgun loadouts. However, they still destroy vehicles fast just like how Eldar vehicles are destroyed quickly. The main difference remaining is that Eldar vehicles tend to be manned because roadkilling is fun and rewarding, compared to guarding or driving around in a rhino or trukk.
There is no better anti-vehicle loadout than double-meltabomb. That is irrefutable. It is a guarenteed kill on any vehicle in the entire game. You can suicide bomb anything for free and succeed without a counter.
"""""""""""""""""""""""""Irrefutable"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Counter 1: Dont park the tank, stay movile. a) Melta-Bombs just dont attach to moving tanks. b) Fire Dragons are almost melee ranged and cant outrun tanks even with their CRAZY +15% speed c) Let a spawning "friend" kill the firedragon (extra-tip: if your team-mate dies because he is terribad and went out instead of using the transport weapons just leave the tank and kill the dragon: their main weapons should be totally heated and eldar pistols are a joke) Counter 2: Depending on the map and situation it may be better to destroy the eldar transports than to protect your own. a) If they are not protected is just too fucking easy: Flying (Assault) Power Fists are just broken and kill eldar tanks almost as fast as a double melta bomb with FAR more mobility & survability <- Equivalent or probably better AV loadout (as it can be used in other situations) b) If eldar transports are protected by someone smart they will run and relocate because eldar tanks have considerable less HP and worse weapons. If they relocate they loose time and you give your team an advantage, follow them even if its not fun gameplay-wise. c) In some maps tank hunting with your own tank can be really usefull: eldar tanks cant 1v1, cant safely ram you and you can use your own as "walls" in chockepoints. d) Grav Gun makes killing tanks just dumb. (OFC you need a friend for that)
"Don't park the tank" Good luck with that, you get no reward for driving so no one does it. Destroying transports 1 for 1 is usually only better if you are on defense. Neither of those are true counters to an instant suicide bombing issue.
Because they fly to the sky half the time, and hump Rhino's the other half Doesn't compare to deep striking Rhino's though
I drive transports as well, even though I am straight-up punished for doing so with no requisition gains, I do it so my team can win and be happy and have fun. Driving is fun too, thankfully, so I'm not bored AND unrewarded.
I know, protecting tanks is not rewarded and many times I need to do it personally. Thats why in the list of problems for the devs I posted it. But IF you do it, you know it works really well unless you are vs a team where its ok (balance wise) to loose vs 3/4 people focusing you when you are only 1 and nobody helps.
