I hope so, because everyone I've talked to seem to say that if, say, the Tyranids ate everything, Chaos would cease to exist, because it requires mortals to feed it. That's the gist of the problem. A whole Traitor Legion preaches that 'Chaos is eternal' yet the lore I've seen implies the opposite. I'd be perfectly fine worshiping regular gods if they didn't seem so impermanent. Unless I'm wrong (which I probably am). If so, please enlighten me.
Chaos is Eternal, as long as you feed it what it needs. You have to understand that Chaos has a beginning, it actually wasn't around forever even though it kind of was. And if it has a beginning, then it can have an ending. But it would probably still go on probably as some kind of echo. I know what I'm saying is confusing. There is a reason for that, as the Warp's unique physics allow time travel. So even though something can be born within the Warp, exist, and then end there, the ripples of its existence move across the Warp, including through time to before and after it's time of existence. Hence why you can have a Civilisation like the Laer that seems to have been heavily influenced by Slaanesh from before the god's actual birth. So even if all current life is erased from the galaxy, life could spring forth again in some future time, become effected by the echoes of the Chaos gods existence from now, and initiate their rebirth in that far-flung future.
It's a little bit like quantum physics XD things can exist and not exist at the same time...things can be both a lie and the truth.
Huh. I mean, I kind of new about the echoes beforehand, but I never thought of it that way. Well, looks like I don't need the eldritch abomination devouring everything to have something to worship. (Still think the idea's cool though)
well for starters you have gods that represent basis/human instincts, emotions and drives. Then you have ones that are literally the opposite and are meant to represent the unknowable and alien, shit beyond human in all ways. They conflict in the "philosophy" area I guess.
Well the Nex kinda linked the two, or tried to anyways, but that's fanon.... Screw it, I'm signing my name into the Book of Azathoth. Can't get more chaotic than that.
23 pages and I still don't know how to respond to this thread. But the angry yelling in my head won't stop, so I assume that qualifies as something.
