it could be absolutly awsome but not sure on the horus heresy think maybe something more like gaunts ghosts since the storys abit more linear compared to horus heresy wich jumps around alot. not saying it wouldent be awosme just not sure how it would work

it would be better as cg (relic style not the shitty ultra movie)

also depends on the style since some anime styles wouldent but others would be stella also anime give no fucks about blood and gore

I say Anime with a specific style in mind. Dead Space was for example not too bad, Wh40k in that style would be pretty fitting. I think the Mass Effect anime was a similar fashion.

Not that happy rainbow super duper Anime Humor mainstream crap like Sword Art Online or DBZ or similar fashion. There are good dark anime styles that could fit into the setting, take also a look at Elfenlied.
