  1. Already explained it wasn't a problem what so ever.

That's not true, again look at Planetside or WW2OL. Team killing is very rare, despite the massive player increase.

Stop the personal insults for christ sake.

Good point and a new angle to be contemplated. That could really kick ranged players in the digital nuts and of course the trolling that would occur. Once melee players realize they can essentially get free Xp just following ranged players around and then Ksing them...yeah wow that could have some serious repercussions.

It would be awesome to have a Dev weigh in on this particular topic...

I think the issue here is that some of us have different views on how this game should be played out. you mention RO and ARMA and I immediately think very tactical oriented game with dedicated people but for some reason when I put that into a mmo format in my mind such as EC, it doesn't work out. The extreme tactical approach that is.. I think it will be extremely difficult to keep subs going when a game is incredibly difficult to play. I am not handing out crutches here, just hear me out for minute.

They want to make a good game that please everyone but they also want to make profitable game that please everyone. In the MMO world there are many, many casual players and there are few hardcore players and they are always separated at birth but funny enough the profit comes from the casuals. So if you add too much tactics or strategy the casuals will run away. Leaving behind a poor sub base and crappy content addition. It has to be a healthy mix of both and tactical difficulty needs to grow with your skill. It's rough to throw FF on a person that has just started playing a game of this caliber for the first time and expect them to like it. Then again the game clearly will not be for everyone.

All in all it is a thin line and again I would love feedback from devs on FF.

Well, if you have support from games like RO or Battlefield on your side then I give up (how could I face such an army :D)

And I don't care what you do in your noob ridden PS2, can you just stop talking about this crap for once?
Christ, we're having a MMO revolution going on here with EC, a chance for a new quality, new approach, new universe -let's talk about this, look into the future not into the past. We have a chance to mould this new game to a certain extent and you're stuck in the past and cannot move forward.

I might look like an ogryn (at the first sight) but you...you have a Polish nickname :p (a very stupid one in fact)

Very well put, full support on that.

Well Savij did put the thread on Brents profile, and he did address it (albeit not im as much detail as id like) in the Combat thread (http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/thr...e-in-eternal-crusade.802/page-136#post-275840).

But seeing how much (justified) fuss is raised around the issue i think some more interaction with the community could help ease some worries here.

  7. If people are getting so worried, maybe the developers should set aside roughly 50% friendly fire servers and 50% non friendly fire servers, that way everyone wins. The hardcore gamers such as myself get the enjoyment of combat realism and all those "Hold my hand the entire time" players get the relative enjoyment of only being TKed by people driving into environmental hazards or respawning on a mobile spawn that happens to be next to a cliff. They can change the server proportion if they want but this is the most fool proof plan because there will be different servers already for different game modes etc. so why not just do it this way. It's logical and would save majority of the heart ache because then if anyone complains about being TKed, we can just say well it was your fault for going into that server.

And I certainly am considering the future of the game, which is why I've been supporting the inclusion of friendly fire as a way to make the game deeper, more balanced, and fun. Fortunately, the devs currently agree. What I really hope they draw from this is an idea for appropriate penalties in order to make FF function correctly.

Advanced machines are built using lots of simple, basic parts. Kind of like how 90% of our electricity is, fundamentally, generated by spinning a wheel. :D

    1. The flag is upside down.

    2. I'm glad to hear you care about the future of the game but like some posters before me noticed FUN does not mean the same for everybody. Yes, the devs are for the FF for now but believe me if they face a large scale moaning from casual part of players shortly after the launch you'll be surprised how quickly they might change their mind - it's business, remember.

    2. WTF is this? Spinning wheels my ass :D.
