And what if the grenade blast kills every single enemy in the room?
You now have your entire squad still alive, the room is secure.,and at a very low cost.

...and then one little ork pops up from around a corner and throws a sticky bomb at your squad - game over, see my point :)?

Well, with the system i would prefer, they would be already dead.
    Still,lets wait for your pool.

In such an environment of persistant war going on you'll never have everybody dead, it would contradict the very idea of this game :)

Ok but I'm sure your teammates wouldn't be so happy about taking 80% of their hp, would they, as then they had to be extremely careful not to get owned by a single bolter round + you would get a punishment for hurting your mates too.

Problem: regenerating health/medics. I set off a demo charge in the room, kill everyone there except the friendlies, the friendlies are at full health again before they face their next enemy. This also means I'd still be able to strap demo charges to teammates and use them as guided missiles, then they just heal themselves back up to full right after.

This also retains the problem that I can still block doors with a Terminator or a vehicle, and they'd have no way to get me to move.

Look, dying is a regular occurrence in FPS/TPS games. You're just going to have to get used to it. If you can't handle being TK'd once in a blue moon, that's your problem.

Naaah, man too many unknown factors: how do you know you'd be able to strap any demo charges to your team mates? that would be stupid.

If the combat is as persistent as the devs are saying there will be not much time before you see next enemies.

If you blocked the door long enough the enemy would effectively remove you, don't worry :)

If you're really so certain that it will lead to their death anyway, why not just kill them?

By avoiding killing them you obviously expect them to patch up and make it to the next fight, and that's open to abuse.

i wouldn't like to kill my mates even if i had a reason to cos in the end it would be ME who would pay the price for it -the punishment, see? I'd prefer the enemy to do it for me.
