well the devs want it in so we must accept that (for now!!) what we can do is suggest ways to imlpement FF so we can avoid abusable mechanics.
Really it seems to be kind of convoluted. I know you want to spam plasma cannons into friendly melee. And this system would help protect you in that endeavour. But it doesnt make really good sense therefore I oppose this idea.
I really dont like Gary's idea. It does absolutelly nothing to,for example,stop someone from orbital bombarding a massive melee of hundreds of people. Sure your troops will be left on the brink,but since the enemy is dead,what are the drawbacks? Same can be said for grenades and Flamers on urban/building warfare.
On contrary, using this solution you could still seriously hurt your teammates with AoE and other weapons and they would die quickly cos having 20 % or 10 % of hp left in such a turbulent environment in the middle of an ongoing both side fire exchange is NOTHING, the enemy would qyuickly take advantage of it. but it would prevent you from KILLING your mates and getting the loathed punishments, it also would prevent trolls from killing their mates for fun. Please try to be objective and look at the all elements and sides of this problem, not only yours.
Good to know. Don't know what kind of brainfart I've had when I voted for no ff. Usually and currently I'm backing 100% ff.
