I agree whole heartedly, I not really sure I want to be a close combat character, because like others have said, there is going to be friendly fire and I agree and would like it, but to what extent is the question!
Possibly you can wound but can't kill your allies, put them down to 10% health for example, then FF does nothing.
Planetside don't have melee classes, that's why i would like melee classes to take reduced friendly fire, because no other game with similar numbers has any melee class.
Makes no sense because you can just fire into melee and do more damage to the enemy than your team mates which is a balancing issue.
EC is going to be alot bigger then Planetside or WW2OL (*excited face* it's going to break world records) but I see what you mean. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Yea that's the main issue, when you are locked in melee smacking a person it's almost impossible to hit the target you want as a ranged class unless you are standing right next to them, I think friendly fire should probably not take a target below 50% health or something or like in WH40K: Spacemarine where we took a third to half damage. I think we have to understand this is a game where we are trying to enjoy out selves and is not IRL. So I think having a certain amount of forgiveness in a military simulation is important, since this game is not a rogue-like. You can't make it silly where no damage is taking with friendly-fire, but it shouldn't be incredibly harsh since with a game where thousands of members of a faction can be fighting in a small area, unlike CoD where it's 16 v 16 and you can clearly differentiate friend from foe.
