pretty much agree to Tornadium.... damage should be 1:1

And i also suggested a good penalty. And you can make a pretty good one with a simple concept.
Punishment, well there are a few good ideas there but i wont say anything about it; lets say there is a heavy one. What if we make the system to ask players who are friendly fired on to choose to punish player or not. Well i dont think this sentence alone is explaining enough; lets talk about an example.
Lets say that you are playing eldar. You face a sm player named T, well thing are getting hot in melee combat. And then player U aproaches from behind of T. He then shoots you and T; then in my assumption the punishment is set on U after he approves this in game. (a friendly U killed you you wanna blah blah - click yes or no; then respawn etc)
Makes any sense? All i am trying to say is for both the sake of melee combat and the 40k universe, ff should be in and there are some ways to it. Also orks ff is kinda regular issue so i wont be suprised to see HAXXOR1209387219873213 friendly firing. DAKKA DAKKA.
Any of you devs who might be reading, what do you think?

Mhhhhh such punishment system was even utilized in some games.... I think there was a plugin for that on some Counter Strike Source Servers.

You could then hit a key ranging 1-9 what to do. 1 was forgive, 2 was kill, 3 was stun, etc.

devs already said that friendly fire is 100% for sure but they will develop suitable penalties to prevent "spies" use friendly fire intentionally.
reduce dmg on friends, no way, learn how to aim properly before the battle, will you?

  5. What I would like is if you were shooting at enemies and some noob runs into your shots, first few hits deflect, next few would, just dissapear, then go from 1% of normal damage then climbs to 100% damage dealt to your ally over time. As well as warnings, the only way you could kill your allies is if you purposely did.

Problem: if he's completely immune to my first shot, what happens if my first shot is a Battle Cannon or Plasma Cannon round meant to vaporize the person he's in melee with? That would allow exactly the kind of abuse we're trying to prevent.

You're going to get killed by friendly fire, it's just part of 40k and truthfully is a common part of shooters in general. This is far from the first game to have friendly fire, and it won't be the last. Just learn to play with it.

Though I do like the idea of getting a punish/forgive option when someone does TK you, the "punish" option should be fairly lenient on the first couple of strikes. Because let's face it, people are more likely to punish an accidental kill than forgive an intentional one.

If someone draws a large number of "punish" votes in a short period of time, it might be time for a GM to start looking over the instant replay...

  7. If you TK more than 5 times in a 5 minute period then you are definitely either utterly terrible or doing it intentionally. You can't really police it via GM intervention so just a swift boot back to the Strike Cruisers in orbit for 10 minutes (Would ramp up if you keep doing it, so 10 minutes then 30 minutes then an hour).

  8. Yes but if there's 500 people on your team and your at the front. Either everyone on your team are expert marksmen or they're going to TK alot. I am just worried that (as I usually am) I will be shot in the first few minutes of the battle and so miss all the important parts because I was TK.

I would say for now regards Friendly Fire that we should wait and see how it turns out.... All I know is We NEED it. The details can be worked out later when we see where are exploits, etc.

  10. Yea the thing to worry about is that if friendly-fire is taken to the point of killing another player then in large battles, with thousands of projectiles it would be problematic especially for the melee members of either faction.
