The idea is that they want Orkz to be as numerous as possible. Also, as Matobar said earlier, a business model that works for a certain genre of game, doesn't work for others. Not only that but Guild Wars 2 makes you pay 60 dollars upfront for the game and that game is incredibly successful. I seriously doubt the individual factions of EC will be 60 dollars.
I plan on buying the game as whole. I want to play as all factions before I pick one on to main. Orks boy being the trail mode will give them numbers.
We are all agree that all member's on this forum will buy the game... the thing i dont understand is : you want a Waaaaagh to face and u dont think about F2P players. I'm afraid of F2P guys will try and leave as ever and whaaaag will live for 2month then will be no more Ork boys on game... I just say that more you show more u will earn player... and whaaaag will be made of paying player not a fake one
to have good numbers of boyz developers should give them enough fun to stay in game for long. or you loose all your ork freeplay horde very quickly. so they should be interesting to play and have same progression line as other classes. boyz should be more or less universal soldier to accomplish any tasks. but if players want to do specific roles they need to buy a game. the more clear variant to understand good way in witch boyz should be is if player can by a game and still love to play boyz that mean that boyz are good balanced.
Well that's the thing. Nobz can do just as well killing Space Marines on their own. But as I said earlier. Boyz aren't just an Ork with an axe. Boyz are everything. Shoota boyz, choppa boyz, slugga boyz, stormboyz, tankbustas, 'ard boyz, and so on. If the entirety of the Boyz progression is available as F2P, that's a huge bit of the Ork army free to play.
what balance can be look like: if we have 25% PP orks and 75% FP orks playing more or less all the time we can do such variant of balance 1 SM = 1PP ork + 2 FP orks = 2 PP orks = 4 FP orks if we do not have acceptable count of boyz we need to power up PP orks to make them not to suffer from others so all is about numbers - which percent of free to play boyz developers want in game. from this numbers we can calculate players count proportions to make orks side more orkysh and closer to the lore
Just two subjects i want to address. The Imperium does have a solution for the Emperor, They are called the Illuminati. I'm assuming you meant more along the lines of " Games workshop making it well known the Emperor will continue " Second... If you don't play on a funded server... your chances of having the gaming world policed is extremely low. Sure, if you want everyone to be a cheapskate, with every other player using Aimbots... Wallhacks and speedhacks, what have you... then sure. But i don't think the competitive PvP players will stay in a game of that Calibre. Nor would a 40k lore fan enjoy seeing yet another 40k videogame desecrated. While you could look at the situation as a tool for greed... i think you will find it is far from something so simple.
I is going to be real silly when the SM outnumber the Orks but are twice as undisciplined, but the Ork paid players are a core of super hardcore guilds that mess up peoples shit periodically. Interesting thought.
Definitely. But in the meantime... Does someone has statistic about approximately how many players are favors the 4 factions in percentages? Because from that data, we can get some interesting guesses.
