Is there any FOV command or setting i can use ? I tried i find a value in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\EternalCrusade\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini" without any luck. Are you guys planning on it ? Also the game seems to work in 7680x1440 just some fov setting and hud adjustments needed http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...453/13554E9F0D6CB6B27E6528E9F9344E32104BC3C0/ http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...093/A2C39E1FFCF5982E82907676CAE9A7A1E24E209C/
Brent said that they want everyone to have the same FOV to avoid giving anyone a tactical advantage based on FOV in the third person. It was said a couple of months ago on a live stream but I'm too lazy to look for it - as always.
I would say having an i7 with a 980ti would also be giving someone a 'tactical advantage' in gameplay. : P Fact is widescreen and multi monitor gaming is here to stay as the engine supports this and hopefully we shall have better support sometimes soon. The problem is in unreal engine 4 and how it scales the FOV maintaining the aspect ratio X across rather than Y. Currently the game crops the top and bottom of the display image when using multiple displays definitely giving those using single monitors with a tactical advantage For more info see here: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/monitor-resolutions.52192/ Please can we get a DEV response on this issue.
It wouldn't be because of the game itself, it's the "user fault" if I can say so as bE isn't responsible for the gear we use to play on, while they are responsible for the game settings And, concerning the multi display.... well that's my personal opinion, but I'm quite not sure that games were basically meant for that ( in general ) so I wouldn't mind that cropping "bug" ( mainly becauuuuse I'm enjoying my tactical advantage ;D ) . Yet, I agree with you, bE should fix that, but they have to work on several things, way more important than this one, so I guess it'll take time :x
They should give us 3 to 5 various FOV options to choose from, this way nobody has an unfair advantage because everyone has equal access to all 3 to 5 different FOVs.
It's not about access, it's about choosing to use it or not. For example I deeply hate Fov's other than the regular one ( since everything has been built on it looks "normal" ) as it quickly gives me headaches and it usually looks like shit. And I know I'm not the only one behaving that way. Thing is, yes we will have access to it, but it doesn't mean we'll use it, thus giving you an advantage over us. Don't question the fact that we choose not to, as the question isn't about will we choose not to use an advantage, but will the dev implement something that could disadvantage someone other than the gameplay itself ( since it's meant to be assymetrical ) . I'd also add that 3 up to 5 options means that there'll even be disadvantages between people who have and advantage so kinda nuts ( no offence meant, just talking about the principle ). Tbh I don't get why people want to play on multiscreen/modified FOV, I mean, can't you just get it as it comes and enjoy it that way ? or it's something else maybe ? either way it's beyond my comprehension .
Because some players might not enjoy the current claustrophobia-inducing tiny fov? Because they might own several monitors and enjoy playing on such a setup? You don't need to get it, as long as the devs do
