Before you start badmouthing people it may be a good idea to make sure you aren't indulging in unintentional hypocrisy -- Hypocricies such as saying that someone is making too many assumptions and then in the next breath using terms like 'non-founder Vyper' lol. This of course assumes that the non founders have access to a Vyper jetbike rather than a standard jetbike.. An assumption that doesn't really gel with the fact that the founder's pack terms the paid for unit a plain old Vyper rather than a special super duper Vyper and the tabletop Vyper doesn't get the option to exclude a rear gunner. But fair's fair you are right about the subscription - I'd mistakenly thought that the 'Monthly subscription bundle' in the bundles section was gametime rather than a monthly rolling rogue trader point bundle. Also Req points =/= Rogue Trader points
Requisition points are earn-able in game and are what you spend to spawn vehicles, elites and heroes. Rogue trader points, the currency for the store, is only earn-able by cash-monies. The Basic Game (the game with all content, not just 3 basic classes and very limited vehicle spawning as with the F2Waaaagh) costs $40 USD and there is no subscription fee.
In fairness, you called me a fool (or HEAVILY implied as such) first. I'm a brusque guy. I guess it comes with being self-employed in a business where diplomacy is pointless - you can't argue with tolerances. Anyway, if you didn't mean to actually call me a fool, then I was wrong. Even if you did, I should've let it slide. This Founder's update has a lot of people on edge. You're right in that it doesn't make much sense, but that is what it seems to be from a post by David Ghozland: In other places I've heard the non-founder Vyper will be delayed 6 to 9 months, but in others that the attack bike is a sidegrade from an bike (which would imply the Vyper is a sidegrade to a jetbike), which I agree would be awful. So, you're right. I made an assumption based on my optimism. I was being a hypocrite. I was getting pretty nasty - it takes a patient, honest guy to defuse that kinda internet forum cycle of thread-murder. Much respect to you. As for the Rogue Trader to Req points, I misread the Rogue Trader abbreviation for the points. I thought it was REQ, it's actually EFP. Guh. Long day. Anyway, thanks for being patient. EDIT: After rereading the FAQ cite I posted, I realized it didn't support my case. I replaced it with a dev post by David Ghozland.
I believe there will be a sort of "cert" in the form of unlockable traits you can get through playing your preferred race/class over the long term (like experience points). As far as I understand it, these are completely unrelated to Rogue Trader unlocks, as they should be.
There will be an experienced based skill tree that unlocks traits and items for your race/class, yeah.
"More fool you" is a common turn of phrase first coined by Shakespere and used to caution a person who is engaging on an obviously foolish course of action. A foolish course of action such as rolling over to egregious business practises. Why is that foolish? Firstly because you are accepting unfair treatment when you deserve better, but also your compliance tacitly encourages other businesses to do the same to their customers, which perpetuates and exacerbates the situation! There is a world of difference between calling someone a fool and referring to a belief or course of action as foolish. No worries, I respect it when people are big enough to admit when they get something wrong, after-all I know myself well enough to realise that I'm often wrong
I went into STEM...not much of a Shakespeare guy (Not that I didn't enjoy Merchant of Venice or anything, but I prefer reading prose to plays). Frankly, this is the first place I've heard it. I've decided that so far that what I've purchased isn't a bad deal. If it looks like a bad deal in the future (for me or other players, because in games like these the players provide most of the actual game), then I reserve the right to stop playing (and stop buying). If enough people agree, their business practices will change. Supply and demand is the best regulator.
Might I ask in what sense? If we're talking fast, flanking attacks then won't Wasps, Falcons, or possibly even War Walkers also fill that role?
Earlier on devs announced we would have no walkers on release. Wasps included. As for falcons they are not confirmed for now. These are the announced vehicles so far : Jetbike Vyper Wave Serpent Fire Prism
