Yeah that's my experience too. The only poll I've seen said it was about 20%:10% male-playing-female to female-playing-male. Supposedly it differs around the world and by age. Each to their own. Only one female inclusive faction atm, and they're 'noble'. Eesh.
Not all Craftworld Eldar females are "noble"; but the ones involved in the war aspects have little else on their mind but their chosen martial path. As for being "noble", Eldar females only look like they got their noise up their butt and that's how they are portrayed in the artwork. How they are portrayed in the novels is rather different.
Naw not in the "for the greater good" style of 'noble' but they aren't freaky "skin you alive over the period of a week to ensure your soul tastes fear-ier" bad either. It's like how nasty the Imperium is, but compared to the Chaos alliances in Abaddon's crusades, they are downright cuddly. You know waiting to pick the last race (if we get that far) has the added benefit of allowing the new 40K rulebook and any codex updates from now until then to come out. Maybe they'll do female Tau that don't look like a slightly less sexy male Draenei, and I can support adding them, still rather Wyches though
I would rather focus on existing four factions. And I'd even give first expansion just for these four.
Personally, I'd much rather see Dreadnaughts, player flown troop transports, and other special type Heroes and vehicles for each EXISTING faction, rather than taking the time to design an entirely new faction from scratch. Save the 5th faction and subfactions(Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard) for future expansions. Improve and EXPAND on the existing factions if the Founders Program takes off! Who's with me!!!
