Remember Occulus Rift? That is the kind of stuff that has made me wary of hype and promises-that-are-yet-to-be-fullfilled.
At this stage whatever we see will likely be very un-representative of the final product. - Animations will be mostly placeholders - Graphics place holders - Combat unbalanced The list goes on. Founders is pretty similar to a Kickstarter. We've gotten all the pretty concept art, some alpha footage...now its time to put money down. Personally I doubt there will be any Founders limited items I will want (I actually don't like most Pre-Heresy armor). So unless there is something amazing I cannot live without, I'll probably go for the smallest Founders Package and tweak as more items are added.
One thing I am thankful for is that EC does have different "levels" of founders package so its not just that the "wealthiest" players will only be able to get founders. I still will get founders (at the moment the cheapest) but depending on what they show at E3 will make me choose whether to get a more expensive option
I'm planning on buying the highest costing founders pack, so I am ready for anything. I hope they dont release more and more things as they go with the founders, not everybody is getting it so I dont see why half the game has to be founders only, we just need around 5 different packages for it.
Unique cosmetics and rewards are a good thing for pre-orders or founders packs. No actual content should be restricted obviously.
You know, I completely agree with you.... but... it's 40k... so IDGAF. I've bought every single 40k computer game that was ever released (including the not so good Fire Warrior and horribad Space Hulk). I'm just a sucker for 40k.

If I get this thright, EC will only have 20 mins of screen-time, won't it? I am not exactly happy with that. The devs will probably will spend quite some time talking about the founder's pack, leaving even less time for actual gameplay footage - something for which at least I personally am aching before I throw any money towards this game. Kaldor Draigo is right of course (never thought I'd say that considering his namesake), but even placeholder models should not hurt to much if we get to see something that could not be mistaken as a tech-demo for Space Marine multiplayer.
